Time to RESIST the wrongly named "Marketplace Fairness Act." Contact your Senators now and tell them to vote NO on this terrible piece of legislation!

We do not want to encumber online businesses with the technicalities of establishing a tax collection... system that would satisfy nearly 10,000 unique tax jurisdictions in this country.

Whereas under the current system brick and mortar businesses have to collect more in taxes, under the MFA online vendors in red states would pay even more, plus they would incur the cost of the new regulatory burden of complying with the myriad of tax codes.

This is a recipe for killing jobs and raising the cost of goods. It’s for good reason that the Quill decision referred to such a scheme as a “burden” and violation of due process.

In fact, collection, enforcement, and reciprocity of this tax would be so complicated that it would engender yet another fix in the endless cycle of government incompetence.

More government incompetence just to get at everyday people's money as if they don't already pay enough in local, state, and federal taxes with sales taxes, fines, and fees constantly increasing.

This type of legislation hurts every day Americans and many small businesses. Please vote NO!

The disaster this could cause for small online businesses, forced to collect taxes from customers across the country who live in states with no sales tax or with varying sales taxes, could decimate, even destroy online commerce. Additionally, many argue that it would be taxation without representation and could lead to financial transaction taxes.

Majority leader Harry Reid is pushing through this complicated “Marketplace Fairness Act of 2013″ Internet sales tax bill, giving little time for senators to thoroughly read it. They had the bill in hand less than a week, but the motion to proceed passed with an overwhelming majority last night, 74-20, for it to go to a floor vote, perhaps as early as today.

Big Brother and the Trans-Nationals will rule after this is in effect. Get on the phone or send an email to your Senators and tell them NO on this terrible legislation today!

The internet is evidence that lack of tax is not harming anyone. If the government needs more money, they should stop spending so much!

Spread the word!

They can go after all the untaxed trans-national money stored offshore and raise the billionaire hedge fund tax (Warren Buffet shouldn't pay a flat 15% in taxes a year while the rest of us pay a far higher percentage) but that's not what they are trying to do with the "Marketplace Fairness Act." They are trying to tax you on every online purchase you make forever. You better send an email or make a phone call to your Senator tomorrow or it may be a done deal.

The Senate just passed it. Obama can hardly wait to sign it. Only the Congress can save us from this plutocratic piece of legislation. Write your Congress person or get ready to pay taxes on all Internet purchases and watch trans-nationals like Walmart gobble up the small-medium sized business space as each business in that space becomes liable for up to 7,400 separate government local and state organs using the courts and law enforcement to go after them.
