Hi over many years I have noticed that men tend not to talk must about their struggles in life generally and on this CC there isn't a specific forum for men only.I think it would be a good way for men to network, share ideas,if any are struggling with life example ;fatherhood/husband hood..and loads of things...it would be one way to be listened to ect. What do you think??

Yes, look in the Misc Forum, where there were a spate of cafe threads started recently; at least one was geared toward men, but of course anyone could post there :)

I think the ones I am thinking of were mostly all started in the last few weeks, maybe a month... but maybe only one specifically for men, just quite a few cafe style threads in general, all at once, it was kind of weird

Wow! There isn't a Men's forum? That's weird because (lean in close...top secret) there's a Ladies' Forum which only women can post to! I don't want to speak for the Mods (I've never run a chat room so I'm not sure how hard it would be to get a Men's Forum going), but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard. There has to be at least one or two male mods or senior senior members that are respectable enough to monitor a forum.

Ya know? This one has been requested numerous times and it's definitely not going to happen, BUT nothing says men can't start a men's group on here. Same concept, except you can't go over 1000 characters in group posts, can't make the font bigger, and posting photos is a feat worthy of an award. Just a suggestion.

Could women peek though? I could see privacy being an issue if so.

Hmm... the idea of having a mens forum doesn't seem important to me, honestly i don't know why there is even a womens forum i never understood the purpose of that, I mean I assume it's to talk about things that only women go through or something but even so what do we men need to talk about in a forum for men only? our favorite football team or something? I speak of my struggles all the time on here personally there is no forum specifically for each gender needed in my opinion

I thought I read where you can begin a private forum and invite those you want to invite into it??? Or did I only dream that?

Men don't use mends forums. This is why it's actually a waste to have them. I've seen on multiple Christian forum sites where the mens forums started with talk of sports and cars and porn, then died out shortly after being started.

This has been requested repeatedly, as another user stated, it's not going to happen.

There is an option for private groups. Just a week or two ago i suggested to someone to start their own private mens group, due to a similar request. They did. I joined and it's already dying, last i checked. There was another about a year or so ago. Dead as well.
There have been multiple mens groups made, but they all meet the same fate. Death. Private groups are lucky to get a month of activity before they dry up. This goes for private groups in general, not just mens.

If the group is set to private only people approved can join, or read, what is said in them.

There is a womens forum, but it's... only for women. It does have a waiting period after joining to be granted access to them. Their posts are not public, therefore not listed in Google, unlike the rest of the forum threads on the site.

Mods have nothing to do with creating new forums. It is the sole responsibility of the site owner, RoboOp, to decide on, and create, new sections of the forum.

New forum area creations are rare because Robo wishes to keep there from being an excess of options that will bloat the site and make it harder to navigate. There also has to be a high a perceived high enough demand. The large number of Indian and Philippinos on the site suggested this demand, but neither group seems to actively participate in their specified forums. That wasn't predicted, no doubt.
