"Yesterday morning, monks from the Kiev-Caves Lavra Fr. Gabriel, Fr. Melchisedek, and Fr. Ephraim stood on Grushevsky Street in Kiev with a cross and icons, between the demonstrators and the Ukrainian special police force “Berkut”, and stopped the conflict. They entered the arena as peace-makers, and not in support of one side or the other."

Very cool story here!

Been seeing the turmoil break out in Ukraine lately on the news and it's getting very scary. Very happy to see some monks are standing up for peace to try to end the violence in Ukraine. Very cool story reflecting Christian courage, peacefulness, and integrity too. Thanks for sharing this, I had not seen anything about these monks in mainstream media. Though I am still wary on the Ukraine situation, this story gives some hope indeed.

Yes, very cool. The monks stood with the cross, praying and they sang an Paschal hymn about Christ rising and triumphing over death.
