I'd just like to share with you guys something that happened in my life about a year ago. This was after a time in my life where I thought I knew God but really didn't. I then slowly discovered what it meant to be a Christian after some horrible things that happened (, but that's not what this is about.)
I remember I invited my friend Mark to come to church with me one Sunday. He lived close to me at the time, so he was there really early. He was bored and convinced me to walk to Starbucks with him which was like two blocks away. At the time, Mark didn't have a relationship with God, and I'm not sure if he believed God existed. As we were walking to Starbucks I tried to convince him God was real and tried to preach to him. But I was so very knew to the whole thing, and I hadn't actually been a Christian for that long myself. All the knowledge I had of Christianity was just residual knowledge I obtained from growing up in a Christian family. Looking back at my experience with Mark, a lot of the things I said were very inaccurate and false. Anyway, to put it short, I was failing. So we went to Starbucks and ordered whatever it was we got. On our way back there was a cross walk we had to stop at. A stranger with a basketball approached us, and we kept to ourselves. For some reason it seemed awkward, and Mark and I didn't want to say anything. He got a ways ahead of us and started to dribble his basketball between his legs. He got further and further away but kept dribbling. Then I noticed that he started to hesitate between his dribbles and then eventually stopped and turned around. He comes back to talk to Mark and I, and he says, "I don't know why, but I had the sudden urge to ask you guys something. Do you guys know Jesus?" And at this point we were just like "WHAT?! OH SNAP!" And this guy just lays it down for Mark and tells him his testimony. He preached to him perfectly and Mark started to believe in God that very day.
I guess you could be thinking that this is made up; I know how it feels when someone shares a miraculous story. And I know you could shrug it off as just a coincidence. But I hope your heart burns after reading this and urges you to believe in God.
