Okay, I am having issues regarding the Holidays. This is
the most difficult time for me as memories come flooding
back.
Holiday dinners, family laughter and fun. Now, all is quiet
and the peace is nice, but I still hear their laughter and the
people who were heard loudest, are now silent.
As their body lay still in their resting place, I pray their spirit
is rejoicing with all Gods saints, and worshiping and praising
our Lord.

The years have gone by so quickly. You have no idea until one
day you will look at where you are and ask, 'where did time go?'
Our home was filled with the fragrance of ham and turkey,
pies and cookies. The kitchen table was laden with all types of
casseroles. The dishes stacked, the dinnerware and napkins, lay
side by side. It has to be buffet style, and someone would peek
in and ask, 'is it ready yet?'
We would join hands and someone would be selected to ask the
blessing. Always avoid me, I pray for everything and everyone.
But, God does want us to Thank Him for every thing. Amen.....
Oh, boy lets eat.

If it is Christmas, the excitement was in the air. On Christmas
Eve, last minute wrapping. Some gifts were exchanged when
on Christmas day they had to be elsewhere.
The paper flies, the children are excited. Oh, thank you,Nana,
thank you, Papa. Just what I wanted.
One year we gave our grandson a Paint Gun. It was not cheap.
A cute side note.... He was playing with it at his home some time
later and he broke it. He called to tell me, " It broke, Nana."
Sorry, honey. Maybe you can save up some money and replace it.
Now that grandson lay in his resting place. His life cut short at
age 22. The most gracious and appreciative boy his short life.
His death was easy. Don't think he planned it. Now, I hear
his voice in my head saying. " I love you, Nana."

I speak of these particular Christmas's because the memories
keep coming back each year.
My daughter, mother to the 22 year old, was always like him.
Happy go lucky. Laughing at her own goof ups. Awesome
sense of humor. She could be heard where ever she was.
Today, when I am out and I hear a loud laughter coming
from somewhere, it sounds like her and I look ....then it hits
me, her voice is silent now also. She also rests in her place
of peace and quiet.

My Mom, oh, she comes in laden with food to add to our
feast. Everyone loved her cooking and baking. She was one
who was like my daughter and grandson. She could be heard
throughout the house, usually talking 'football' with the
grandsons.

Now Mom and Dad have been silenced also. They too, rest
with my Daughter in their resting place. I used to say I could
just hear my dad saying to them, as they lie near each other,
"would you two please be quiet, I am trying to sleep." It
is just a moment of humor for me and help me accept they
are together.

Yes, it is going to be Christmas soon. I get teary and I just
let them come. I miss my Daughter, Grandson, Mom and
Dad.
I miss our house filled with family and laughter and the,
fragrance of the awesome feast we were blessed with.
I will make it through this again, but it is never going to
be forgotten, because memories can't be taken away.

Thank you jeno. My heart speaks ~ I have had this in me for
few weeks. The tears have been coming easily again. I thought
maybe writing it out will help me a lot.

God Bless ... I have wanted to ask for prayer regarding my emotional
state, but didn't. So many have their own issues. We have a big God
don't we ? He knows all, but He really does like to hear from us.
And it gives Him great pleasure to bless us and meet our needs.

God understands you. Be thankfull for the memories. When we accept Jesus, it is saying I will one day be with you, as Jesus prayed in John 17, Father I want them where I am. Your loved here. I pray peace and life into you. Health, for the next year and every year. I love you.

Thank you for the words that warm my heart. It does get easier,
but we just can't always forget because of the 'memories.' The
good ones come more frequently now. God bless you ~

Sometimes we need to let go. People we grieve over are in a better place, be at peace, for the kingdom of God is within you, and those who are loved by you, are with you, not physically, but where our Lord is, and that is he is with us. Peace to you.

Oh so understood. I am glad they are at rest.
My love is deep for my living and deceased. It
is something that can't be totally erased. It just
hits at certain times. and I get through them
more quickly now. Praise God ~ thank you so much ~ jkalyna
