(or younger, if experience/learning lends you that)

I was reading a thread about a struggle with pornography, and it got me pondering something.

Without going into much detail, we all know there are various ways of experiencing sex/lovemaking mentally as well as physically. Putting aside the physical/visual aspect for now. Many people need the mental aspect of it. And by that I mean fantasies. Things lovers make up/imagine in their heads to intensify or incite pleasure. We've all heard of this. And so far as I have read, it is normal, within certain boundaries.

What happens if you have fantasies you don't want to have? Or in other words, you are turned on by something you wish not to when confronted with it? Whether confronted in the media, or unexpectedly in something you are reading, etc.

I've heard of people being aroused by images or storylines that they don't find pleasant. They don't find it pleasant because it's not monogamous, unloving, or involves violent acts. "Christian erotica" is starting to pop up, as an erotic alternative to these kinds of lewd literature/ideas. But some people are turned on by this, and I don't know why. If it was an actual situation reported on the news, it would be outraging. Again, I don't want to go into detail. But it's not fantasies restricted to the lewd, lost and wayward sinner. They are actually common, but we deny this due to our "hide it in the closet" approach to sex in this society.

My question is if any of you have wrestled with unwanted desires or knew someone who did, what did you do to condition yourself to only focus on certain, pure and loving fantasies? Let me assume marriage, to eliminate that controversy. What would you do? Have any of you read on this?

They may not be wanted. And, you may think them unpleasant. But, they are, somehow, pleasurable to you... even if in a negative way.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

John 15:3
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Eph 5:25-26
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Rom 7:25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Philippians 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Putting more bible into our heads cleans out our minds;
it actually "transforms" us according to God...
and he should know.

There is a lot of neuroscience showing that what we take into our minds "reprograms" us,
and actually changes our neural networks.

There are other verses about the MIND, and about the WORD,
in the New Testament. You can easily look them up and do a study.
