In John 16:33, Jesus tells us we are living in a world where there will be trials, distress and frustration. And immediately after that, He tells us to take courage; be confident, certain, and undaunted; because He has overcome the world, and deprived it of power to harm us. He declares He has conquered the world for us! No matter what we face in this life, whether circumstances have left us feeling overwhelmed, or we are facing emotional turmoil, even despair - we must not allow ourselves to set up camp and settle there! Just as the finished work of the cross bought us freedom from sin, it bought us freedom from being overcome by the pressures of this world! Just as you reached out in faith and accepted Jesus Christ for your salvation, you must reach out in faith and accept Him as the One Who has overcome every hardship this world will ever throw at you!
There is no profit in hanging around in hopelessness. Know today that the Spirit of Jesus Christ - the One Who has overcome the world for you, is inside of You and His power in you is GREATER than anything that is threatening to steal your peace and life and joy! It's time to walk right out of the trap of despair the devil has laid up for you. 1 John 5:4 says, "For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith." FAITH in God and His Word is what will bring you victory and keep you there! Dare to believe that Jesus is all He said He is, and that His power that is in you will do what His Word says it will do - Ephesians 3:20, "...by the power that is at work within us, (He) is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]". Declare you are free from despair today and walk in your victory by faith!
