Welcome, SheepInNeed.

I don't have too much time to post online these days, but if I can be of any help to you, then please let me know. We are all sheep in need, and I will leave you for now with some words about our Good Shepherd.

Isaiah 61:1-3

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Hello all, I attend a local Baptist Church, I am suffering with depression and it makes it tought to go to church. I was hoping to find people online to Fellowship with,
Welcome. Depression is no fun. I used to suffer. However, Lord Jesus came to set us free. Depression is often an attack from an evil spirit. You have power and authority over evil spirits. Use the weapon of truth that God gave you in Christ. Command the evil spirit to leave you. Also renew your mind with the truth of God's word. Those who are born again have a hope and and a future that the lost do not have. God works all things for our good if we love Him, even things that seem impossible for us now.

Remember that you are acceptable to God because He put you into Christ. If you are acceptable to God, you should be acceptable to yourself! My depression was the result of looking at myself instead of Christ. Not a good idea. Hebrews 12:2 is the remedy for that.

Hello and welcome to Christian Chat. (KJV Ephesians 1:2) "Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." (KJV Jeremiah 17:14) "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise." I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ heals you of your depression and blesses you with his peace.

Hi Sheepinneed,

I was an independent Baptist for a long time.
I can't say that the pastor addressed the issues with depression that are common to most at least at some point. That's probably true of most pastors in general.
Having experienced an unbelievable number of tragedies, life traumas, things beyond my abilities, the Lord has brought much comfort and healing through His Word. Otherwise I would have died over the past two years or so.
Perhaps you are interested in learning too?

'No one knows your story but you, as many things can trigger depression. Whatever seems most
obvious to one's own situation should be attended to, be it loss of a friend or loved one, loss of a job,
or whatever, one must learn to accept things that happen, whoever or whatever occurred, and learn
a change is surely necessary, and the sooner the better.

'There may come a time when one needs to take a serious inventory of self. Often with honesty,
one may come to realize change in one's actions and behavior is in serious need of "adjustment".

' I learned years ago, that I was the problem. Not only drinking but jealousy, selfishness and self-centered were
a serious hinderance in my life. I am thankful God became a part of my life over twenty-five
years ago when I made an honest and sincere effort to put God in my life, in all my coming and going. (
Amen)

'I pray God comes into your life. I learned to "let go, let God". :)

Hello Sheep, I've been rescued from decades of depression, by the grace and power of God who was able to do this for me. I am also new here, I joined to give me something to occupy my mind instead of reminiscing about my old life. I hope to help and encourage anyone I can. Hopefully your depression is only temporary. The joy of the Lord is your strength! May your joy soon be full. I don't attend any church, although I had been in a few 30-40 years ago.

1 Corinthians 12:12-27
New International Version
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Hebrews 10:25
New International Version
25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Ephesians 6:12
New International Version
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
