Hey all. :)

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Jessica, and I am newly single. I have an adorable 18 month old little boy who is about the cutest thing ever. I teach high school choir for a living and wouldn't trade it for the world! I also sing and play the keyboard in my church's worship band. (That's pretty much the main points of who I am. LOL)

My reason for being newly single is a bit depressing. My divorce was final a week ago, and although I'm heartbroken at how things happened... I know this is best for me and my son.

Anywho, you guys seem like a really fun group, so I hope to get to know everyone better!

Thanks!
Jes

Hi Jessica and welcome to CC...

Going through a divorce is one of the hardest things that a person can go through during their lifetime, so my heart goes out to you in your pain...you can either make your divorce work for you or hinder you...on the positive side, look upon this as a new beginning, with one door closing and another opening with Jesus leading you by the hand through that door into an exciting future...

Avoid being bitter with your ex as this is really poison to the soul and would wreck any future relationship.

Yahweh Shalom...

Thank you, jb. :) I'm actually not new to CC... just to the singles. :)

I have been very blessed in all of this. My church family and actual family are incredibly supportive. They've given me the safety to mourn and move forward. I have a place to stay while I get on my feet. I'm surrounded by love and understanding. I'm in the best possible situation I could be with all of this. I know God is with me and watching out for me. I've been trying hard to keep a thankful heart and look at all the blessings He's given me rather than the things I've lost or I feel were taken from me.

I still struggle with frustration and occasional anger, I'll admit. But I'm trying to work through them rather than wallowing in them.

Welcome, divorce is a very trying thing on the whole family, blessings from the church is a wonderful thing. You are the only you that God created and it is a blessing to anyone in your life that you are who you are. Stay strong and God will work in you and around you to make your life what it is meant to be.

hi Chiclet
Just saw your post today 0.0 you been hiding it?
Anyways, sorry about the divorce, but hopefully you can find some help and distraction here. Lots of good people on the site. Dive on in and maybe try the chat rooms as well.

Hi everyone. I too am new to the single thing.

My name is Cassy and I am legally seperated. I am 45 and have no children. I left my husband 3+ months ago because he had some major anger management issues. Additionally, I left everything behind with him, including my job. We owned a store together and so when I left him, I left my job. I am trying to piece the pieces of my life back together again. Some days are better than others, but with the love of my family and faith, I am able to strive for something better.
