Hello everyone, I'm Michael. I joined this site because I'm going through an incredibly difficult period of my life, and despite never really even believing in God before, I swear I feel Him at my lowest. I'm hoping to receive help and advice from the members of this site, as well as peace and acceptance from God. Thanks everyone. :)

Welcome to CC! God bless!

The Lord put me flat on my back and I found myself in a bible ten years ago. He did it, He said so. (See my signature)

Glad you're here. Hope you find the blessing and peace you're looking for.

"He [Jesus] was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:10-13

Hi Michael,

It's no accident you are here.
Some of us on this thread have gone through knarley things recently. Others in our forum are right now too.
If it weren't for the Lord, I'd not be talking to you now. The unbelievable number of traumatic experiences and trials I've gone through and still trying to recover from about killed me.
Last night finally got a good night's sleep and hopefully as soon as off here.

One day a man cared enough to share this same message with me. I hope it's a blessing to you too. That way, the Lord will be with you to help, not just now but forever.

Welcome, Michael.

I am sorry to know you are going through a very difficult time. May the Lord's help be with you every step of the way.

In my case, God really had to put me flat on my back for me to realize I needed Jesus. I was too proud and self righteous.

You don't have to wait for God's acceptance. You are already accepted when:

A person declares with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead.

No sin, no mistake, no situation, no oppression, no temptation, no nothing is beyond the power of our mighty God. Sometimes He sends breakthroughs soon, and sometimes He wants us to go through a process. We only need to trust Him by making the decision that we will lean on His understanding and not on ours, and we ask for His grace to do it.
Our Heavenly Father, wonderful Lord Jesus, and mighty Holy Spirit are faithful.

God is faithful, merciful, gracious, slow to anger, quick to forgive, steadfast in love and more. He has you in the Palm of His Hands. He loves you.

Jeremiah 10:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 10:

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

'Often a person "attempts" to turn to God when life becomes overwhelming, I for one
turned to God because my life was out of control. And, when I cried out "I need help",
by the grace of God, help came in an unexpected way, now over twenty-five years ago.
Amen!

'I have shared my story because I am grateful of having God in my life. I learned it
was I that had to be willing to change. God's love and wisdom can be truly a blessing... But,
the wisdom has to be acted upon and it is and will be a continuous endeavor to overcome
burdens of life. I pray you learn that a "God consciousness" can and will help change one's life.
Know to "rest in God", meaning to trust that God's directions can and will help improve ones life.
A friend may be closer than one may realize.

Welcome, @MichaelM! My advice to you would be to go to the Bible for the advice/assistance you might need. There are Bibles with cyclopedic indexes which help find verses related to a particular issue. This Board is reminiscent of the Wild West in that there is all kinds of help offered, but much of it doesn't align with the Bible. Blessings.

Welcome Michael. Being relatively new to God will disrupt your life, your point of view has changed but old ways of thought are hard to dislodge. Depending on how long you have been a Christian, such issues might well be fully expected at the time. Humans are far more similar than we like to think and periods of difficult while trying to make large changes tend to occur at predictable times. Hang on and I will be praying for you.

Luke 15:4-7
New International Version
4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
