Deuteronomy 23:24 When thou comest into thy neighbor's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

You could eat all the grapes you wanted from someone's field but couldn't take any home with you. God had a carry out law, like a resturant. Pretty cool.

It was the same with Manna too. You could have as much as you wanted but you couldn't store any for the next day.

Do you think its a law or a lesson?

I believe with the grapes the teaching is that people can help other people but that it shouldn't be unpractical. People could eat the grapes but they couldn't take so much that it hurt the owner. You wouldn't starve to death as a Jew if this was practiced and the field owner would not be hurt. It's like the all you can eat buffet, they will let you eat all you can eat, but if you took it home with you there would be no limit and they would go out of business.
