On The Edge Of Change

What will become of us is hard to say.
Fear rules in the unknown.
The electric light, the automobile, the computer, they Y2K bug, robotics, AI, pandemics and the new normal?.

Most of humanity lives in the fear of too much change and feeling of uncertainty that goes with it.
The familiar is comfortable so many resist change.

Our minds like it how it is.
We know it and trust in it.
To much change and we grow uneasy.

When our faith in what we think we know is best and right and true gets shaken,
we can feel like our very identity, who we are is being attacked.

We learned it one way and lived relying on our thinking that this is he right way and we live from that.
The longer we do the less we have to event think about it being true or not.
Such becomes our way of thinking that we don't even think about anymore.
We become unaware of it like a man living next to the train tracks all his life.
When those things are challenged and threatened with change many hold the attitude "ill be dammed if I am going to change now"

You just might be, if that change is from God and one you need to set you right on the one the true path to Him.

That disturbance you feel is telling you something.
It is telling how much of your faith still rests in your own mind and what you think.

The fall of man was a fall from dependence on God
Dependence regarding what is good and evil, what will bring us good or evil,
That knowledge was not something we held in ourselves but rather we got it from God.
We received it from him with the faith of a little child.

Where we landed after the fall was in the dependence on our own reasoning.
The mind of man in the place of God.
Pretending to know what is good and what is evil, what will result in blessing and freedom, hurt and slavery.
With our minds we muster up all the certainty and security we can cobble together in a changing world.

The more our truths are challenged the more we are shaken in our faith in what we think.
But it is not so with a child, their faith is not in what they know, but who they know.

Once I asked my 4 year old daughter a hard question, you could see her thinking and thinking.
Then her face lit up as she proclaimed "I know dad, i know"
I said "oh do you? Tell me"

Her reply changed me.
"I know dad...You know!"

How much of your faith rests in what you think you know about God?
How much of it rests in the fact that He knows and cares and loves.
Everything we need to know is right there for us:
The foundations of what is good and evil on which to reason and discover the truth.
The light to illumine our minds so we no longer are groping around in its darkness.

Waiting for us to return to dependence on Him for what we know.
what does it mean that the word of God can only be spiritual appraised?
It means your reason is not up to the task, but rather the approach of a fallen man.
That their is another way, Gods way, not your thoughts but His thoughts.

if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. 1 Cor 8:2

Your 4 year old told you this? Wow, that's amazing...

From a very young age I felt separated from this world, like I didnt belong. I questioned authority, the system, mans traditions and values were all wrong. When I was around 12 years old I was walking to primary school wondering what my future profession would be, priest is the first word to come to mind, then a feeling like electricity ran through me. From that moment forward my thinking changed and many enemies turned up. Quite a long story I wont share here, but suffice to say its quite a bumpy ride. My whole point of this post is, I have never put my future, my values etc upon the world, I have looked beyond that. Of course I did go astray and do some shameful things but here I am set aside ready for the next phase of my journey. But yes the world is temporary and not worthy of even watching.
