Sin is a choice.

Sin is not a nature although one can develop a natural predisposition to sin through sinning. This is because sin hardens the heart and is very deceitful.

We all have natural desires but these desires are not sin. It is when we yield to these desires in opposition to the light given us by God. That is why the condemnation in John 3 is in regards to rejecting the light.

When people walk according to the flesh they are choosing to walk as an animal simply serving the base instincts. God is not calling men to walk as animals but, rather, to subject their desires to the law of love.

Look at how James describes how sin works...

Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Now look at what happened to Eve...

Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Eve was drawn away and enticed by her own lusts. She let her natural passions rule over her and she yielded to them in disobedience to God.

Cain did the same thing when he killed his brother...

Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Cain had the choice to do well but he, like Eve, let his lust rule over him and thus sinned.

This is why those who are in Christ have crucified their flesh and its passions and desires.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

These people have made the choice not to walk as animals but rather walk according to the Spirit.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

This is why Jesus would say...

Mat_16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The life a Christian loses is the animal/beast life.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

You see someone born of God "keeps" themselves.
1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

They keep themselves because they have crucified the old man in a genuine repentance experience and thus they do not yield to the passions and desires of the flesh and thus sin like James describes.

Peter wrote of this exact same thing...
1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

A true believer lives a crucified life as a living sacrifice, constantly renewing their mind that they may know the will of God.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

If you walk as an animal fulfilling the animal desires in opposition to the light then you will die. On the other hand if you, through the Spirit, put to death those deeds then ye shall live.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Jesus was tempted by the passions and desires of the flesh in exactly the same as we are yet he kept his members in subjection perfectly without ever sinning once.

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus was our example and is calling us to do the same through the power of God's grace for sin shall not have dominion over us.

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

We are to reckon ourselves dead to sin and thus not yield to it.

Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

The wretch in Romans 7 was in bondage to living like a beast.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

He had to be set free through a genuine repentance whereby God would then raise him up to newness of life where he would no longer be in bondage. He would be set free.

Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

It is in repentance that the old man is crucified. The error in the church system is they teach that the old man is crucified gradually over a period of time, thus they have a professing Christian serving two masters and being double minded. It doesn't work like that, you have either repented and crucified the old man or you haven't, there is no halfway grey area.

If you still yield to the passions and desires of the flesh and serve sin then you are not in Christ and you have not repented. In fact you are still a slave to sin.

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

The good news is that if you obey from the heart the teachings of Jesus you will be set free.
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The church system is full of wolves who teach none of the above. They are lying to you, whether with intent or by ignorance it doesn't really matter.

The doctrine of original sin is a deadly heresy which totally redefined the Gospel. It puts the blame of sin on God. It redefines the ability of man to where he cannot choose to do good. Actual sin becomes a symptom of an inborn disease and thus true repentance is neutralised and sin is not forsaken.

Judaism never taught inborn sin and the early church never taught it either. it wasn't until Augustine came along that it was introduced into church orthodoxy.

Think about it. How can God be just for condemning sinners when their sin is a result of how they were born?

Satan wants you to believe the following two lies.

1. Ye shall not surely die if you sin.
2. Ye cannot obey God and stop sinning.

If you buy into that then there is no hope for you because the strongholds in your mind will prevent you from obeying God from your heart.

The entire church system is built upon these two lies and that is why they preach a "saved in sins" gospel message. You can see it on these boards, so many will defend the lie "ye shall not surely die" but will dress it up with theological rhetoric.

I haven't seen any churches preach these errors.

The only errors I have seen the church preach is that a person can somehow decide to pull their own selves out of the pit.

The Lord Jesus is our Saviour. He saves us. He forgives us. He gives us His Holy Spirit and shows us how to walk in it.

A person trapped in the pit of sin and shame can't just decide to walk in the Spirit. They need help. Lots and lots of help.

Turn to the One who gives this help in the time of need. He is the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

All the churches are preaching these errors. If they were not then the pastors would not answer the questions that we ask the way that they do. It is very clear.

Here are a couple of examples.

QUESTION
Is there any particular sin or sins that must be stopped before one can be saved and forgiven by God? For example, if someone is addicted to pornography or battles with alcohol do they have to lay these things aside before God will forgive them?

ANSWER
No, salvation is not based on our works, but on the work of Christ. However, once you have ask Christ into your life and you begin to walk with Christ you will be drawn to obey His Word. Below is some additional information. We would also recommend that you seek out a Bible teaching church in your area so that you can fellowship with other believers. We will be praying that the Lord will continue to draw you to Himself.

RESPONSE TO THEIR ANSWER
If there is no sin that we have to stop in order to receive salvation (saved from wrath) and thus be drawn by God, is there then (after salvation) any sin that must be stopped in order to keep ones salvation?

SECOND ANSWER
Once you are Saved, You may still sin however, your pattern of life (through the power of the Holy Spirit) would be not to. Please reach out to a local pastor to walk with you through this.

QUESTION

I have a question and was hoping you could answer it.
Is there any sin that we have to stop in order to receive Christ and be saved?

ANSWER
Yes, the sin of unbelief in Christ as your only Savior.

RESPONSE TO THEIR ANSWER
So does that mean a child molester would not have to stop molesting children in order to be saved?

SECOND ANSWER
That’s right.
John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Acts 16:31 “. . . believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . .”

The Bible tells us that if we believe and receive the Lord Jesus we will be saved, whether you are a drunk, druggy, or even a molester. Although, if one truly gets saved he will stop those sins.
I Cor. 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

We don’t change to get saved, we change because we’re saved. It is Christ in us that empowers us to change.
Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which stengtheneth me.”
John 8:32 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

I trust this has been a help to you. Let me ask you a question; If you died right now, are you 100% sure you would go to heaven?

Now those two examples are typical. Every single pastor I have emailed has answered in a similar way although they word it slightly different. They all teach that you get saved in your sins because they believe in the heresy of original sin. Sin is not a crime to them, it is a symptom.

Sinning or not sinning has no bearing on salvation in their eyes which means they do not even know what salvation is. Salvation is being set free from the bondage of sin as well as having past sins remitted. A child molester who is molesting children is still in bondage and they have no remission of their past sin.. It is exactly the same for a liar, thief, drunkard, fornicator, porn watcher etc.

James says this...

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

The pastors do not believe it.

The Bible says this...
Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

The pastors do not believe it.

John wrote this...
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The pastors do not believe that one either.

It amazes me the length which people will go to twist scripture in order to support their theology of error. I have emailed many pastors and there are no exceptions to the saved in sins message. NONE!

Not a single one will say a child molester has to stop molesting children before God will forgive them. They simply cannot say that they have to because of what they believe.

Most of the people on this forums would answer in the same way as these pastors because most are under the sway of "ye shall not surely die" as long as you "trust" in the finished work of Jesus. The Bible says no such thing anywhere.

Jesus warned that many false teachers would come and that they would deceive a multitude. It has happened and it really started to gather steam with Augustine and his introduction of the doctrine of original sin.

Now all this is a big pill to swallow for those in the church system because if what I am saying is true casts aspersion on everything you hold to be true.

Jesus was not joking when He said...
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Rather than strain at a gnat and swallow the proverbial camel please consider the implications of what I have written.

no one can pull themselves out of their own pit...
many modern churches preach that today... that is what is known as Pelagianism.

God does draw all men to Him, however, He leaves the choice to us to either repent or reject. A good example of this is Revelation 3:20:
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. (God draws all men to Himself; John 3:16, John 12:32)
If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, (we must choose to accept Him & repent; John 3:16, Luke 13:3)
I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (He comes into us and we become a new creation)

I see that you are both correct in your view of Salvation.

Sinning or not sinning has no bearing on Salvation. If we could stop sinning by ourselves we would not need a Saviour would we?

However, Salvation is being set free from the bondage of sin. Because the Lord gives us His Holy Spirit at Salvation and teaches us how to walk in the Spirit and leave behind our walk of sin in the flesh.

So some people still struggle in their walk because they still live in a body of flesh... Does this mean the Lord gives up on them? No, of course not. The Lord Has Said He Loves Us and Would Never Leave.

This is also a very typical answer I hear all the time.

The grace of God has appeared to ALL MEN.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

All men have been given light.

Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

God has also given man the ability to CHOOSE.

Deu_30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Cain could choose...
Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

We can choose too.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2Ti 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Yet the sin defenders will say that sinning or not sinning has no bearing on salvation. They might as well cut those verses out of their Bible.

They might as well throw this one away too...

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

The sin defenders will say you don't have to do those things. They will deny that you have to lay aside all wickedness in order to receive the implanted word with meekness.

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

They will deny that you have to be a doer of the word.
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

They will say you can do these things and still enter the kingdom.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

We need a saviour because we have sinned in the past. The wages of sin is death and when we sinned we fell under condemnation. Returning to obedience cannot undo condemnation and that is why we need a saviour. Jesus died so our past transgressions could be purged.

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

We have to repent and forsake our wickedness so that we can walk in the light and have our past sins cleansed.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Mar 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Why ignore all these scriptures and isolate and twist others?

Here are some more...

Jer 26:13 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Jon 3:10 And God saw their [Nineveh] works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Mat_12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luk 15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
Luk 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Luk 15:19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Luk 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Yet you honestly believe that sinning or not sinning has no bearing on salvation? What utter foolishness. The Bible is so clear on the matter.

2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Jesus Christ is the vine and by abiding in Him we will produce much fruit.

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

One of Jesus commandments was "Go and sin no more!"

Yet how is it that people can rationalise that they can continue in sin and still enter the kingdom? They must love their sin so much that they can just suppress any light left in them leading them into a situation where it is God Himself that sends them strong delusion.

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Those who say we dont ned Jesus if we could stop the sin

Don't need Jesus?

1 Tim 1:15 Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

When you come up against the saved in sin message, and actually teach a sinner must repent first before mercy will be granted, they accuse you of not needing Jesus anymore!
They claim if you could stop your vile sins to receive salvation, as scripture clearly teacher, Act 3:19 Therefore repent and convert so that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing(quickening) shall come from the presence of the Lord. Then you don't need Jesus!
This is the typical answer that is being used today by the pastors and teachers who defend sin, and bring a vile sinner into the kingdom, before they have gone through genuine repentance followed by an obedient faith in love and heart purity. Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcised has any strength, but faith working through love.
Nothing could be farther from the truth, as they have the gospel backwards, where Jesus is their substitution, saves them IN their sins, makes them pure by provision and not in reality, thus Jesus is needed to cover them in their vile sins, while they hopefully will stop somewhere down the road, which usually leads to a hardening of the heart towards sin, and they never stop!
WE know that without genuine repentance and faith, there is no salvation, Jesus isn't a covering for sin, but was a sinless offering for our past sins.Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God!
So those who say IF we could stop sinning to receive salvation through repentance, 2 Corinthians 7-10-11, then you don't need Jesus, are putting up a straw man defense, to avoid the fact that Jesus was very much needed, not to save us in our sins, or to be a substitution sacrifice for us, but was offered up as a ransom, to ransom us from the corrupting influence of sin, Mar 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Jesus was very much needed, and without Him we all would still be lost in our sins, and disobedience, He did come to save sinners, to be a light and example for us to follow, not a substitution, and set us totally free from the bondage's of sin! John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
To say that we who teach repentance and faith working in love, by stopping the vile sins in repentance to receive mercy from God, are being very dishonest, and taking away the great power of the cross, to set us free and then being our strength and shield! Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
So in 1 Timothy, Paul was telling us Jesus came into the world to save sinners, this is true, and that before his conversion he was the chief of sinners, but he was cleansed, washed, and sanctified by the blood of Christ, made into a new creation, 2Co 5:17 So that if any one is in Christ, that one is a new creation old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Set apart for all good works and obedience to the truth.
He forsook his sins, became a saint, and a strong follower of Jesus Christ, never taking for granted what Jesus did on the cross to set him free from the bondage's of sin and disobedience.
To say Christ isn't needed if we must first repent of our vile sins, is a lie, and a scapegoat and excuse the wolves will use to take away the real reason Jesus had to die on the cross, as apart from Him we can do nothing, as His light and example are evident in the sinless life He lived, shining His light and love on the lost, calling them to repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Matthew 4-17! Now can you honestly say Jesus isn't needed anymore if you could stop your vile sinning against Him?

If we were indeed born with the sin gene, or after the fall inherited this so called nature from Adam, then this will render us hopeless to repent from our chosen sins, seek the mercy of God, preparing ourselves to receive with meekness the implanted word of God, thus leading us NOT to sin less and less, but to grow in love, wisdom, righteousness, and holiness, being conformed into the image of Christ, by obeying His word, and following Him on the narrow road. John 14:15.
I do not see this as works salvation, or trying to earn anything from God, making the death of Christ of no effect, NO I see this as a mandatory act on our part, to come before the mercy seat of Christ, in humility, meekness, fear, and an urgent desire to get right with Him, by crucifying our flesh with Christ, Galations 2:20,through genuine repentance and faith working in love, that must occur BEFORE mercy will be granted, as ISA 55:7, 2 Corinthians 7-10, Acts 3:19, clearly state.
But IF we were born sinners, or totally depraved, no free will, or free will coming after we get saved, then the saved in sin message becomes true, and all the powerful scriptures that tell us we are not born corrupt sinners, or inherited a sin nature from somewhere, are to be ignored, or explained away, as a myth, because man is unable to stop his vile sins, until God takes over, and empowers the sinner with the ability to sin less and less, void of any clearing, and crisis of conviction, that we are unable to do. But woe to those who follow this pagan teaching, and cause many to stay in a lukewarm and defeated state, where sin is the norm, and thus nullifying all the verses that warn us, that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God, and he who sins is of the devil. 1 John 3:8.

Quote:
The Scripture teaches that all men originate their own moral depravity (Genesis 6:12; 8:21, Deuteronomy 32:5, Psalm 14:1-3, Romans 23, Ecclesiastes 7:29). The Scripture teaches that men sin and corrupt themselves. In fact, early in mankind's history upon the earth, men had become so corrupt that God sent a flood to destroy them.
"I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth." Genesis 6:7.
Observe that God was angry with "man whom I have created." Certainly he was not angry with them because of the nature with which he had created them. No, it was because they had corrupted themselves that God was angry with them.
"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth and behold it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth." Genesis 6:11, 12

The sin stops, or the heart hardens!

Therefore First and Foremost, the Sin Nature Doctrine EXCUSES the Sinner!
1) It makes his Sin a Calamity instead of a Crime!
2) It makes God Responsible for the sin!
3) It creates double-minded, complacent professing Christians and breeds deception
4) It cause Ministers to excuse sin and not preach against immoral behavior
5) It Contradicts the Bible!
6) It Creates a HUGE Problem with Jesus being born of a woman into flesh
7) It Promotes other False Doctrines
8) It is absurd and unfounded, supported only by Conjecture and improvable!

The Purpose of this article has not been to prove that Real Christians are without sin in this world or that sinning is impossible after the New Birth takes place. But only that sin is NOT the foregone conclusion nor is it ‘inbred.’ Man is NOT Born a Sinner by Nature! That means he is Perfectly capable of Repentance toward God, PROVEN by DEEDS! (Acts20:21, 26:18-20) AND a Faith that OBEYS from the Heart and DOES what is RIGHT! He can INDEED STOP Sinning!

What you have done in the churches by embracing this Doctrine has compelled you to soft peddle the Gospel and treat the sinner with sympathy instead of conviction for his sin. This is why no one is actually repenting of anything. And the reason why no pastor we can find will say that the sin has to stop. Therefore it is universally preached that a person has to be Born Again BEFORE he has any chance of stopping his sin and as a result the churches are full of professing converts who are immoral, drunkards, lairs, adulterers, cheats, covetous, etc. ALL WAITING for the Holy Spirit to Clean them up somewhere down the road.

But the Whole Process is Backward! Can you be forgiven of adultery while still committing adultery? Would a thief be forgiven who did not seek to clear himself of the wrong doing by making just restitution to his victims? Would a chronic lair ever be trusted to tell the truth if his heart wasn’t first made PURE through Repentance and faith? It’s unimaginable, according to Scripture, to suppose that God will forgive someone ‘IN’ their sins! NOTHING in the entire Bible could be more UNMISTAKABLE than the Wicked MUST forsake his wickedness, amend his ways and seek the Mercy of God! (Isa55:7, Ezk218:19-32)

As a final thought ask yourself the question: ‘Where did sin come from?’ If it’s inbred, inherited from Adam (as most of you believe) then the Devil has no role in tempting the believer into sin. The Roaring Lion seeking who he may devour is actually a toothless kitten! What purpose would there be for Satan and his minions to entice someone into wrong doing, if ‘Inherently’ they are depraved and can’t help but sin anyway? It would be ludicrous to blame him for your sin when you were born ‘speaking lies’ from the womb! The sin couldn’t possibly be his fault, but the old carnal nature of your flesh that refuses to be Sanctified out.

So Daily this preposterous Doctrine wrecks its havoc on the church and no one cares enough to examine the evidence pro or con. The pulpits are compromised and immoral behavior is rampant among Pastors and parishioners. Will anyone seek to RULE OVER IT as God has Decreed? Sin will always ‘lay’ at the door. Will it find you or will you conquer it?

I'm a newbie so forgive the lack of sophistication in my observation on original sin. I believe that original sin was/is disobedience. It started with Adam and Eve and is in all of us to this day. Not because Adam and Eve sinned but because we are all disobedient. It's our nature not some peculiar, troublesome topic to cause mental anguish and long theological discussion. It was the Pharisee and not Jesus who saw things as convoluted and complicated. I know you'll let me know what I'm failing to pick up. Thanks

Romans 5:6-12
6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

While we were yet sinners Christ died for us, to reconcile us to God. We didn't choose to be perfect first and without sin. If there was any POSSIBLE way for us to choose to be perfect and without sin then the Law would have been enough for us. God wouldn't have had to come down in the flesh and die for our sins. But He Loves us and He knew we couldn't follow His Perfect Law like He Does.

John 15:5-8

5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Without the Lord Jesus we can do nothing. This includes "deciding" to be sinless.

Luke 5:31-32

31And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
32I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus didn't come to save the righteous. He came to save sinners. Like me. And Like you.

1 John 1:7-10
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

All it takes is honesty. Were you perfectly sinless before the Lord Jesus Christ Saved you? Of course you weren't. You're still not, even after the Lord has saved you. If you say you are perfectly sinless then you lie, and the truth is not in you. But if you confess that you do sin, and you confess that you need a Saviour, then the Lord Jesus is Faithful and Just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Excusing the sinner is the whole point of the Gospel. That is why it is called Good News. If only the Righteous were saved then it would be called the bad news.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

I suppose Isaiah 64:6 is for when you think you have become perfect... If you perhaps didn't understand or believe the rest of the bible verses I've shown you.

Original sin means that the relationship between God and man does not exist. Jesus remedied the situation on the cross. We can have a relationship with God and original sin can no longer separate us from Him.
Many Christians view original sin as if it was a type of cancer and it spread from Adam to all mankind. But original sin is more like Halley's comet. If you have never seen Halley's comet and have not experienced it--You are in a state of no experience or relationship with it.
