As Peter responded to Jesus as Peter was walking
away from Rome when Jesus asked him "Peter, are
you leaving too". "Lord to whom shall I go, you alone
have the words of everlasting life. Once we surrender
to God, we live in the Spirit and are new creations in
Him. There is nothing anywhere, no matter how much
more enticing it is, will give us more joy in Him. Not
silver nor gold nor wisdom nor philosophy can lead us
to happiness. As Solomon said towards the end of
his life after ponder all of his riches, "all is vanity". So
if Solomon who had all he wanted in this world could
say that, how can we believe it to not be true. As
Peter met a beggar by the gate, he said to the beggar.
"Silver and gold have I none but what I have, I will give
to you..stand up in the name of Jesus and walk.." And
with a little help from Peter, the beggars stood and
walked. The beggar thereby was unburdened by wants
and glorified in his needs.
