How many of you single christians over the age of 30 ever feel like an outsider? Hard to find true fellowship at church and casue you dont party dont hang out with your none christian friends? This is where I am at and tired of it, im trying to decided if church is for me or what to do. I will take positive suggestions and not any that say being single is a blessing.

I can relate to what you're saying. However, maybe you can think of church in another way. The most pure motive to go to church is to go to give to God and his children what we can...not for what we can get out of it or not. Of course we should receive something spiritually from a good church...but I try not think of it as a social club.

I'm only twenty and I came here because I was so absent of fellowship. This is changing for the better I think... that or I am easily satisfied with this website. xD

It can be hard to find people who don't need to get drunk/high/screwed(pardon my French) to be entertained.

I think the best thing to do is remember that we the people are the church, not the building. It can be used for whatever we, the church, need it for.

Our church was used for my graduation ceremony, it is used for worship, bible studies, and even weekly zumba classes that our worship leader teaches.(I just realized that my church is A) Lutheran and B) Teaches zumba... this is funny) Some churches are more into fellowship than others and after going full out in an attempt to get to know your congregation, I would consider trying out other churches and finding a place where you belong.

Instead of listing all the things you don't like to do and aren't engaging any fellowship in your life, what is it that YOU LIKE TO DO? Is it something that other people can do also? Invite people over to your house and start something. I'd also consider taking up archery lessons or starting a casual band... The sky is the limit. You're almost forty, go enjoy being almost forty.

P.S. This might include lots of rejections or half-patootie yeses but keep trying, we're all secretly dying for socialization. Or is it just me?

P.P.S.

OK I can't help myself...

Verb. Its what you do.

Hi, ok, I've been watching you come in the chat rooms since you joined. Every time you come in it is like a broken record. You come in wanting to only talk to a specific age range. The '30-somethings', which are probably the smallest group on the site. Then if someone younger tries to talk to you, you brush them off as not being able to understand you, often leaving them insulted. You did this just today, in fact. Then you spend the next hour making comments to try to get attention. Things like 'maybe i should just go to the bar like my pastor tells me'. I've seen you say that over and over. And the rest of the time is spent going 'guess i don't belong here' or some variation. During this whole time random people will try to talk to you, encourage you, give you advice and every one of them you shoot down and make some excuse as to why they aren't good to talk to. Not only do you put a strong restriction on age, but also on topics. You seem to only have 3 topics of interest and if the main room doesn't cover one of those topics, which it rarely does, then you also complain about that. I've seen people even try to discuss topics of interest to you in an attempt to chat and be nice and you brush them off. I once watched you brush off 8 attempted to chat in one hour, the whole time complaining no one would talk to you. Then you get 'fed up', declare that you're leaving and never coming back! Then you hop to the bible study, 10 minutes later you come back to Lounge, complain a few times time and declare again you're never coming back. This happens a few times a week. Then you disappear a few weeks. Then you start it all over again.
I'm not saying this to be a jerk, or embarrass you, i'm pointing out this is how you act. How do you ever expect to make friends behaving like that? You present yourself as this self absorbed, grumpy, unfriendly, angry victim that no one can do anything to help because you won't give anyone a chance. I'm sorry, i'm just tired of hearing you complain. Lots of people have tried to befriend you and you refuse them and at times insult them. If how you act on CC is any indicator of how you act online its no wonder you have no friends. Stop complaining, open yourself to new people and subjects. Stop making it all about age. Just go talk to people. Join the topic. And when you do, recognize that some people will listen to you and some won't and don't take it personally.
