Pale Moon
In the sky a pale moon rising,
Climbs above the far horizon
You awake and your eyes open,
Half asleep, yet you're still hoping
The emptiness is just a dream
And in the darkness don't it seem
That you can hear her voice again,
Whisper soft, like gentle rain
Up above, the pale moon dances,
Filling hearts with new romances
And under starry skies so bright,
Lovers stroll the jeweled night
Arm in arm with hopeful hearts,
New lifetimes of adventures start
So soon to find the years go by
In the twinkling of a young girl's eye
Overhead the pale moon flies,
To the west, chasing midnight skies
As she leaves, her spell is broken,
Leaving unsaid words unspoken
In the early light of day,
Where sleepy dreams all fade away
You can hear her last goodbye,
Drifting from the morning sky
