We all know that Jesus used MANY parables within His teachings.
Now, let's make our own!! =D
Just for fun, write your own parable (or more than one! - as many as you wish!) giving a message about the Kingdom of Heaven, or the Kingdom of God.
(They must be your own, original parables, please don't spoil the fun by "googling" any or coping any out of the Bible... =])
Enjoy!! =D I can't wait to read what you come up with
Here are some of Jesus' parables, straight out of the Bible:
(of course, there are many more... but adding them all would make this post far too long... and take far too long to type!)
Matthew 13:31-32
"Another story by way of comparison He set forth before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.
Of all the seeds it is the smallest, but when it has grown it is the largest of the garden herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and find shelter in its branches."
Matthew 13:33
"He told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven (sour dough) which a woman took and covered over in three measures of meal or flour till all of it was leavened."
Mark 4:1-9
"He said to them:
Give attention to this! Behold, a sower went out to sow.
And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
Other seed [of the same kind] fell on ground full of rocks, where it had not much soil; and at once it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil;
And when the sun came up, it was scorched, and because it had not taken root, it withered away.
Other seed [of the same kind] fell among thorn plants, and the thistles grew and pressed together and utterly choked and suffocated it, and it yielded no grain.
And other seed [of the same kind] fell into good (well-adapted) soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing, and yielded up to thirty times as much, and sixty times as much, and even a hundred times as much as had been sown.
And He said, He who has ears to hear, let him be hearing [and let him [a]consider, and comprehend]."
