They say patience is a virtue.
Some people define it as the ability to wait through things peacefully.
But from my experience, patience is only a virtue if you suffer for it. God doesn't call it long suffering for nothing.
Now, if you can live at peace while you suffer patiently, that's a virtue right there[:
I know a lot of people who struggle with patience. I myself am one of them, but recently I've had a breakthrough[:
I can now endure long suffering, peacefully. I still wonder at times however; when will I stop doing the things I do and start doing the things I don't do?
Then after that I think; but I will to do the things God wills me to do. So it is not me who does the will I do not want, it is the Sin in me.
If we can be at peace with the constant transition of power going on in our lives (one from evil unto holiness), battling with the fact of our sinful nature, then repent. We will endure.
With grace comes faith, with faith comes belief and repentance, with repentance comes forgiveness and with forgiveness comes peace.
We must be at peace with The Lord's sovereign control of our lives. Reassurance is key to patience[: "and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes" (Romans 8:28).
So we recognize that we are called according to God's purposes, we love Him more than we possibly could love anyone else, with this assurance we must endure patiently! This verse alone is proof that we have no need to fear the outcome of our lives. If we are indeed God's Elect, we have been blessed with the ability to use this to our advantage, big time. We just have to pray and ask for these things to carried out in our lives. Humble yourself in prayer before your God and cry out Abba Father!
