Peace is our inheritance from Jesus, but we have to choose to follow Him daily. Colossians 3:15 teaches us that peace is to be the "umpire" in our lives, settling every issue that needs a decision. To gain and maintain peace in our hearts, we may have to learn to say no to a few things.

For example, if we don't feel peace about something, we should never go ahead and do it. And if we don't have peace while we are doing something, then we shouldn't expect to have peace after we have done it. Many people marry others they didn't have peace about marrying, and then they wonder why they don't have peace in their marriages. Many people buy expensive items they didn't have peace about buying, then continue to lose their peace every month when they have to make payments on them.

Colossians 3:15 says to let the peace from Christ "rule (act as umpire continually)" in our hearts. The presence of peace helps us decide and settle with finality all questions that arise in our minds. If you let the Word have its home in your heart and mind, it will give you insight and intelligence and wisdom (see v. 16).You won't have to wonder, Should I or shouldn't I? I don't know if it's right. I don't know what to do. If you are a disciple of Christ, He has called you to follow peace.

She gets up to the plate, steadies herself in the batter's box, stretches out the bat across the plate, knows what she has to do, team down, 6-3, bases loaded, two outs, last ups! State championship on the line and coach calls on seldom used girl to pinch hit.
'oh my, one girl exclaims,' we want to win, anyone but her!'
Coach says, 'Now, now, katelin, I have a peace about this.'

Umpire: 'Batter up!'
She eyes the pitcher, completely at peace with what she MUST do, the ball flys from the pitcher's hand. She gets a piece of it, a big piece, the ball sails off the bat, but the ball is, she sees, only getting to the fence, and, a big outfielder is there. She closes her eyes, at peace, as she rounds first base and sees the white object about to land in the mitt. The ball goes right into the outstretched mitt at the fenceline but bounces out of the pocket just as the 2nd base umpire screams, 'OUT ! .'

Game over, right after the softball bounced peacefully from the outfielder's mitt straight OVER the fence.

The umpire looked at everyone as he flabbergastedly said, 'Home run!'

Sometimes our faith trails off when some thing turns out wrong instead of being at peace, like this girl just did, who didn't do anything more than give God her peace at this critical time of being hero or goat.

God gets it....give Him your peace.

Thx, milady.

Beck, doesn't Jesus say, 'My peace I give to you.'?
Therefore , it is only natural, not to.mention, both obedient to.accept 'it' and and faith-building to embrace the wonder of 'it.' :)
