We have built our great cities and have made our comfort home
We’ve got everything we needed, yet not enough to fill our soul
How mightily our nations grown, but our roots have gone so frail
Yet I believe that every life can shine, although it seems so dark under the veil
Why then I let myself get cheated in hope of joy to come around
I've tried so hard to seek and live it, but it was lost where it was found

And as the chains of sin they make us weary, so many more live in disguise
