From a conversation that was had in the in the Bible Study one day led me to write this post or more peoples opnion.
1. D we still have the power to perorm the works that Jesus and the Apostles did in the Bible? I believe that same anointing that was on them we have today and we can do thoes things if we believe. I base that on Roman's 8:11: But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. So i it is the same Spirit then we can do the same works
2. Will believers have to stand and be judged or the things we have done in this life and will we have to give an account for them as well. I believe that we will according to Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Also on 2 Cointhians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Our belief is necessary when God requires belief. But belief doesnt make us a Messiah or a chosen vessel
to lay the foundation of the church(verified by signs of power). Nor does it alter Gods plans. It isnt an arguement of whether we have the
same spirit/annointing. Its a matter of His will, and purpose. Potentially yes, positionally no. But i know you wanted others opinions.:)

1.The same gifts that were given to the disciples of Jesus, and the early Church, are still for today, and that is because nothing has changed since then,so if they needed those gifts back then, and people have not changed, then those gifts would be for today, and also the Bible says those gifts are throughout the Church age.

Some people say, because of 1 Corinthians chapter 13,that the gifts have ceased, but the Bible never says when they will cease,as far as the saints on earth,so how do they know when they will cease.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 13,it talks that the things the saints perform will cease one day,and knowledge of knowing things on earth, and says that of the three faith, hope, and charity, that charity is the greatest.

It is not saying that the gifts will cease while on this earth, but what it is saying is that the gifts will no longer be needed when the saints are in heaven.

That is why the Bible is saying that charity is the greatest of faith, hope, and charity, because when the saints are in heaven they do not need faith and hope, because they are in heaven, but charity, which is love in action, will continue on forever.

Faith and hope are only needed on this earth, and will cease when the saints are in heaven, because faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen, and a person does not need hope for something they see and obtain,so in heaven faith and hope are no longer needed, for the saints are there in heaven.

The same with the gifts of the Spirit on earth, they are not needed in heaven, because they are in heaven and do not need to strive to be like Christ, for they are like Him,and do not need to reach out to the lost.

Also the scripture that says that knowledge and prophesies will cease one day surely cannot apply to earth, for the saints always prophesy and have to have knowledge of the word of God,which no saint would argue with that,at least should not.

The saints do not need prophesy or to have to study God's word to prepare them to be right with God,for they will be in heaven.

So 1 Corinthians chapter 13,is talking about all the things that take place on earth, the gifts of the Spirit, and faith, and hope, will cease when the saints are in heaven, because they are not needed in heaven, seeing the saints are in heaven, and complete in Christ being like Him,so there is no need to perfect one self in heaven, but charity will go on forever, which is love in action, and will never cease.

We still need to be perfected like the early Church, and the world has not changed, and nothing is different,so the gifts are still for today, but will cease when in heaven.

2.

11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire(1 Corinthians 3:11-15).

No other foundation can be laid but Jesus Christ, which is a given for the saints, that they know Jesus as the start of the Church, and Lord and Master,so there should not be a problem there, and this applies to people who are in the truth led by the Spirit, for some have the wrong concept of Jesus to begin with, like the New Age religion, which means they laid an improper foundation of Jesus to begin with,so all their works upon that will be in vain.

But some people try to lay a foundation upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, who accept Him in the truth, that is not in line with scripture, and so they suffer loss because of that, but they will be saved, because they acknowledge Jesus in the truth.

All the saints will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to be judged of their works on earth, but they are saved to be with Jesus, but will receive their reward according to how they labored on earth, whether it is gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay,or stubble.

Some people lay gold upon that foundation, and some a lesser degree, precious stones, and some lay stubble, which sounds like it does not amount to anything, which you can see by the way people go back and forth over their different doctrines and beliefs, which we know in Christendom there is many sects of it,and somebody has to be right, and somebody has to be wrong, because there cannot be contradictions,so some people are laying gold upon that foundation, and some people are laying stubble.

Everybody will stand before Jesus to be judged, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

In 2 Corinthians 5,it seems like Paul is saying do right, because we all,the world, will stand to be judged of Christ of our works, and we do not want to miss out on salvation by not doing right, but do good works.

God still gives people the gifts of the Spirit, so in that way through the Spirit we can do the same works as the apostles and prophets. Not everyone has the gifts of the Spirit but some still do. The apostles and prophets could not do anything without God, neither can we. We are given power by the Holy Spirit to do works. The prophecy of 1 Corinthians 13 is not fulfilled yet. I agree with the person who posted that. Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father. That means that which is perfect could be more than one thing. I believe that it will be when we are in Heaven because we will be forever with the Lord.

For 1. "Do we still have the power to perform the works that Jesus and the Apostles did in the Bible? I believe that same anointing that was on them we have today and we can do those things if we believe. I base that on Roman's 8:11:"

The undeniable truth is as vivid as daylight. No we don't. Let us be real. We clearly have never seen/see such miracles today. A "modern day Paul" walking along the streets and by his shadow the crippled, blind beggars are healed. A dramatic prison break where by an earthquake prison doors give way, Christians in Nazi Germany, communist china, Stalin must have at least dreamed of it (sad, but they are in a better place now. Glory be to God).

Nevertheless, we still hold on to the faith those works are in high demand today more than ever to strengthen the church and build our faith for it so easily falters due to lack of the same works.
It is sad to go to an evangelistic meeting/crusade and the preacher during the altar call pushes you in the name of the Holy Spirit though of course many are healed in the true meetings where it is vivid there is no pushing and crippled people walk etc.

Bottom line it is said "Happy is the man who has not seen yet believes" this is a translation of a certain bible (I won't mention as we aren't debating it) but other versions totally don't put it that way. I am more concerned about the strength/meaning of the statement whether or not it is what Jesus meant it has a point.
Again what I have experienced is that when we say Holy Spirit it means different things to different people at different times/place etc. Some think of Him as a being, others think of it as a power/force like gravity/wind/earthquake, as a feeling that surrounds you when you are doing 'good' living 'pure', 'holy', etc. Whatever the belief none has really shown the works during Jesus/apostles time otherwise, otherwise there would not be such a question/doubt in the first place. This is why I like the verse that says we look forward.....Titus 2: 11-15

1. Greater works shall you do than these, because I go to the Father.
2. And these signs shall follow them that believe. a. they shall cast out devils. b. Speak with new tongues, c. lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

Almost sounds like Apostolic holiness Petecostal doesn't it? GLORY!

MIT I am not talking about what God did alone. I am talking about what God did through man and if you think that your prase can not break open a door of prison/bondage the you are counting God short of what he is able to do. There si nothing impossible for God. never has been never will be

When we have the holy spirit we become alive. Jesus is the reason we have life. He died for us that we may live.

Even Jesus only healed those He was sent to heal and miracles do not save people souls. people ate of the fish and bread but still abandoned Jesus. 5000 ate at one time but only 120 endured in faith with Jesus through His death and resurrection.

Jesus told the seventy do not rejoice that you have the power to cast out demons but rejoice that your name is written in the Book of Life. that the second death has no power over you and you have been given the Holy Spirit that allows you to cry our Abba, Father in that we should all rejoice and praise Almighty God for His mercy and grace upon undeserving sinners like ourselves.

We will be held accountable for every word spoken and every thought we did not take captive of and subjugate into the obedience of Christ. However we have a Divine mediator, an intercessor who will made a propiation of righteousness and a remission of our sins, wiping away the handwriting against us and nailing it to the cross. We are commanded to walk in the Spirit and toward the upward call of God. We are to run the race according to the rules and ensure we are not disqualified in order to obtain the crown. We are to do the good works God created and saved us for. We are to love others as God loves us so that the world might know that we are truly His children.

We have the same Holy Spirit but even in the early church not all were Apostles, not all were prophets, teachers, workers of miracles, etc. therefore each person is given the talents and skills and power need to carry out their assigned task in the body of Christ. Each vital for the healthy functioning of the whole.

I believe ALL who speak should speak as oracles of God because GOD commands it. He tells us to tame our tongues and to NOT speak unless it is for His glory.

1 Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
