This was several years ago, and I was on my way into town in my car. On the way I prayed to the Lord, and asked
if there was not something that I could do for him that day. As I pulled up to a stop light I got an answer to my prayer, even though
I was not expecting one right that second!
They were thoughts directed to me, inside my head. There was something I could do for him, right then.
There were two other cars stopped with me at that light, and one was going my way right in front of me, and
the other was stopped going in the other direction. I was to pray for the personal safety of all those in those cars, and
also pray for their salvation in Jesus Christ.
Well, I did pray as I was told, and then we were off down the road. We went about half a mile down that road,
and then up ahead I heard something, and I saw the car up ahead of me swerve off the road, and crash into the
bushes. It was one of the cars that I had just prayed for! I stopped, and got out, and the driver came out of his car,
and came over near me. I asked him if he were OK, and he was, but his car was going nowhere. We went back, and
looked at the crash scene, and we could see that he had missed a fairly large tree, by only a very few inches at most.
Then he asked me to take him to a phone, and I brought him to a gas station. On the way I told him that the good Lord had
been looking out for him that day. He could see how close he had come to hitting that tree. When I mentioned the
name of the Lord he looked at me a bit funny, but he agreed with me. Then I brought him back to the site of the accident, and
he thanked me, and I left.
I have had years to think about all this. Was he someone that was being pursued by the Lord, to be saved, and I
had done my little bit to help reel him in? I hope so! God's will be done!
