Do you really pray for people when you say you do? Do you take the time to actually listen to them and allow the Holy Spirit to help you know how to pray for them? Have you called them? Sent them an email? A card? Are they just a 5 second "God bless so-and-so...You know what the problem is and I have 50 other people on my list so this is the best I can do" thing?

When the body of Christ hurts, the scriptures say that we are all to hurt. We are to care. We are to edify one another. That's why we come together. To glorify Him. To be one in Him.

Prayer is more than a to do list.
It is not the measure of how long, but the measure of the heart in Jesus through prayer.
It is obedience in heart, for another, givng all to God.
It is givng all needs into the perfect care of God Our Father in Jesus with praise and thanksgiving.
It is acknowlaging with a heart of faith all trust to God.
Interceding for the sake of another.
It is all that is given to God Our Father's glory in Jesus.
It is in humility, going before God with many for another in praise and thanksgivng.
And never underestamate God's power, in a blessing. :)

God bless.

I make it a point to pray a prayer for someone right after I tell them that I will pray for them, then there are some who I continue to pray for when I normally pray because they have something that I feel especially moved to pray about. I don't want to be caught in a lie by God if I tell someone I will pray for them and then not do it.

I try to do that too, Gabe. I usually just stop what I'm doing right then so I'm not distracted and forget.

Pickles, as usual, your post is awesome. :)
