Please pray for a pastor and fellow brother in Christ, Mike. He recently had a bad car accident after his front wheel came off. The airbag deployed and he was then unconscious while the car was moving. By God's grace he escaped without a scratch, but he is traumatized by the event, as are his family, and they've been unable to eat because of it. This accident happened not long after he attended a christian week long event, as a speaker, to help lead youth to Christ.
"We thank the Lord for help yesterday and being able to get medications for Mike - he has not got up yesterday or today. We both are fairly traumatized and scarcely can eat. I did write down the details of what he could remember of the horrendous events on Saturday - he found it very, very hard to talk about it and I became aware of the greater perils he encountered while unconscious.
It appears the airbag's deployment sent him into an unconscious state. The car continued to move forward while unconscious and the side of the vehicle engaged the crash barrier still moving forward and was thrust out on to the road again at which point he hit a Mercedes car. The policeman told him this and said the Mercedes driver would be making a claim against him. It appears the contact with the Mercedes sent him again towards the crash barrier still moving forward - he may have traveled a few hundred feet, really not sure, in this unconscious state, before regaining consciousness again. Upon awakening with the airbags touching his face he tried hard to steer towards the barrier and bring it to a halt at an angle. In the absence of the wheel a team from the AA (Automobile Association) were to be deployed that night to locate the wheel. We don't know if they found it.
We have simply been unable to contact Hertz. Too traumatized to know what to say. The Lord has blessed us with an experienced attorney, who will help us in knowing how to correctly handle the issue this evening. Please pray for us in getting this processed. Mike is sleeping lots, I am sleeping little. He is still having great trouble concentrating - can only read a little and stop. He had to cancel a speaking engagement at a local Christian school today. Your ongoing prayers are valued and we are so thankful to be part of the body of believers and to have your prayer support.
