1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
..........justification..........
Psalms 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
Habakkuk 2:3 - For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
1 John 3:2 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Titus 2:13 - Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Job 14:14 - If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
It is surely important for us to wait upon the Lord. Rather than rush forth doing what we believe to be the best thing to do, we should wait upon Him to direct our paths. This Scripture speaks to me of this:
Psalm 46:10) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
The act of "being still" requires us to "wait."
2 ) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
..........justification..........
1Samuel 2:2 - [There is] none holy as the LORD: for [there is] none beside thee: neither [is there] any rock like our God.
Samuel 22:2 - And he said, The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
Mark 12:10) And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
1 Peter, 2:4) To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8) And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
We all languish in a horrible pit of sinfulness before Christ comes into our lives, and His precious blood cleanses us and makes us worthy to be called the sons of God. Oh how precious and powerful is the blood Christ shed on Calvary's cross.
Hebrews 9:22 “Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.”
1 John 1:7) ″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Romans 3:24-25 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”
Romans 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
3) And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
..........justification..........
Hebrews 8:10) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Proverbs 7:1) My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. 2) Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. 3) Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
Psalms 95:1-2 - O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Psalms 147:1 - Praise ye the LORD: for [it is] good to sing praises unto our God; for [it is] pleasant; [and] praise is comely.
Ephesians 5:19 - Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Psalms 104:33 - I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
1 Corinthians 14:15 - What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Acts 16:25 - And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Psalms 33:3 - Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
And remember what Christ said as He entered in Jerusalem:
Luke 19:37) And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38) Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39) And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40) And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
For me, the Scripture passage that best describes my/our joy is:
Psalm 150:1) Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2) Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3) Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4) Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5) Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6) Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
My friends, Brothers and Sisters; how wonderful is Gods love, mercy and grace. How precious is the blood of Christ! How undeservingly blessed we are that He called us, His Spirit moved upon ours, and the Son of Man willingly chose to pay the horrible price to redeem us and make us worthy to be called His Brothers and Sisters, and become heirs to the Promise, and to be worthy to be called sons of the Living God!
Remember what Peter said in his first Epistle, Chapter 2:
9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
While we cry "Martanatha!" God tarries, for He would have all mankind be saved.....
Only one thing remains for all mankind, and that is what choice will they make? Will they answer His call, or turn their backs?
Joshua 24:14) Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15) And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Praise God! And, may He richly bless you and yours this day.
