The love that Jesus had for Mary was the same love that He has for us. He gave His life for her, in the love of God, love that is as far above romantic love as the heavens are above the earth. The same love He has for each of us. And Mary loved Jesus in much the same way, to the ability that God had given her. She loved Him as God.
Romantic love is temporary. It has a beginning and an ending. Ask anyone who has stayed married for more than a few years. A deeper and richer love must replace that which is fading away, or the marriage fails. But the love that Jesus has for us is so much more than that. His love for His bride will endure forever, has already endured forever, it is the one most precious attribute of Jesus that we can experience in this life and the next, if we are open to it.
The whole premise of Jesus being romantically involved with anyone is ludicrous. His love was and never will be insufficient.
