We all have to choose who we will serve (Joshua 24:15). Even the the very first man, Adam, had to make a choice. The tree of life = Christ. Or the tree of knowledge of sin and death = the law. He chose the law. (the law of sin and death Romans 8:2)

Think about the curse after the fall of man in Genesis and how it says that the earth will produce thorns and thistles (Gen 3:18) and by the sweat of his brow, man will toil.
When Jesus died on the cross, He wore those thorns on His brow… for us
(Mark 15:17)

Also, the curse of blood for the woman, He shed His blood on the cross... for us.
(John 19: 34)

The pain of childbirth, He suffered pain beyond that on the cross... for us.
(Read the gospels)

So what happened when Adam ate of the tree of knowledge of sin?

Gen 3:22 "And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever. (The tree of life is Jesus)

How do we eat of the tree of life?

Revelations 22:14 "blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." (Jesus is the Gate) John 10:9 “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.”

What commandments??

1John 3:23 "and this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he gave us commandment."

John 13:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

Matthew 22: 37-40 "Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

1 john 4:7-9 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him."

So God is love...what is love?

1 Corinthians 13: 4-13 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Romans 5:7-8
“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 John 3:16
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

John 15:13
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

So from the very beginning of creation, we can see Gods redeeming love story unfolding for fallen man. Give Him praise!
