I'm bubbly and giddy, and I've never been this way before. I've been talking with a friend of mine for a couple weeks. For those of you unaware of this "lingo", I've been having serious relationship conversations with this man. A little over a year ago he called a friend of mine to see if I was available. At the time I was not, and he didn't pursue me. Several months later my pastor accidentally offered in a prayer that my divorce was being finalized. The next day he asked me to go to the 30th anniversary of his old church. I said I wasn't interested because at the time I was not allowing myself to be interested. About a month ago I started realizing that if I ever wanted a relationship I needed to get out of my comfort zone and hang out in groups with guys. Frank ended up being my coach for the church softball league. The week after our first game he invited me to do batting practice with his friends and I told him I'd like to get to know him better. Frank has been in my kinship for over a year and in my church for over 7 yrs. Hes good friends with the pastor and highly respects him. He's very respectable and loves Jesus. Hes an amazing father. He's been divorced for 10 yrs and in those years has never brought a girl home. He has thrown himself into raising his kids. He's a man I greatly respect. When I met his parents the first thing I heard from his mom was "You must be really special because Frankie has never brought a girl home. He's been a Christian for 33 years. So here's my request. It's really hard to wait. I've never been this sure about anything in my life. We've both been through it and are not willing to mess around with a relationship that's not worth saving. We both have a good idea of what we want. We are very compatible. We share many things in common but we also encourage each other towards growth in Jesus. Patience is neither of our strengths, but we are committed to do this well.

It's great to hear from you, mate and with good news too! Yes, I'll be praying for you and Frank and for God's Will to be done. Happy for you! :)

Frank talked to the pastor yesterday on the way to playing golf with him. He says the convo went ok. He shared his concerns about the age difference and the fact that Frank has already had kids, and that I still have that dream. But mostly he stayed neutral. Today the pastor called me and I could hear the concern in his voice. He brought up the age difference and the family issue. He also mentioned not involving myself in a relationship that is going nowhere. I really wanted to tell him about what conclusions we'd come to about these very concerns but I thought it may scare him even more to know that Frank has already told me he wants more kids, he wants to marry me, and he already talked to his kids about me and they are fine. It leaves me uneasy because I really don't want to do anything to draw more concern from him.
