The law is like a Rod. It is merciless, because it was established and cannot be broken. If the law is not met, then anyone who transgresses it will be put to death. And this is the severity of it. If you don't keep the full law, you will die.
Now, where does this put is then, people who have not kept the full law, and have transgressed over and over and over again. Indeed, as long as the law is set up, it is condemnation to those who don't keep it. So now, there must be another way, and God saw that there must, because that he said, THE SOUL THAT SINS IT WILL SURELY DIE!!! And we know sin is transgression of the Law. And God cannot go back on his promises. So how do we escape death? By keeping the law? NO!!!! Because it was written that anyone who desires to be justified by the law must do ALL of the law. And if you offend in one point, you are guilty of all.
And now we see the grace of God. Because the penalty is a shadow on me, I have to run to the light. Because sin worked death and darkness in me, I have to be constantly in the Light if I want to be saved. I have to bow down to the mercy of the Lord forever. YOU ARE SAVED BY GRACE AND NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY SHOULD BOAST! I thank the Lord for this reminder. Now we see the perfect purpose of the Law, as a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, and that schoolmaster has a Rod for discipline, and instruction in righteousness.
So, if you think repentance alone will save you, NO! Because the law requires blood. INDEED! The law requires blood, it is not so merciful. And so Jesus Christ had to take on that penalty of the law, to satisfy the anger of God. AND IF ANYONE DOES NOT HEAR JESUS CHRIST THEN HIS BLOOD IS ON HIS OWN HANDS. AND THEY WILL BE UNDER THE WRATH OF GOD. HE WILL DESTROY THEM LIKE A HUNGRY LION. AND THEY WILL NOT STAND!
Now we see the blessings of God then. That because we were lost in sin, Jesus came and died right in time to save us from death, taking death on himself, keeping the requirement of the law unto death, to be propitiation for our sins.
YOU HAVE NO BOASTING TO DO. I HAVE NO BOASTING TO DO. I AM BUT LOST IN THIS WORLD, I AM BLIND IN THIS WORLD, I NEED A SHEPHERD BECAUSE WITHOUT HIM I CAN DO NOTHING. HE IS MY PASTURE. HE IS MY EYES, HE IS MY ROD AND MY STAFF. AND HE IS BLESSED FOREVER AND EVER!!!
