God's will (which is good), in the plan of redemption, will ultimately be carried out even with trials, tribulations, and persecutions, for all will turn to our (Christian) advantage, blessing, building up, completion. For trials work patience, tribulations work faith, and persecutions work love. We know this, because we love God, and trust in His leading.

This is a very powerful Scripture that is full of Hope for believers who Love God ----This is not Brotherly love----this is Agape -----
This scripture is God's Promise to all His children who Truly Agape --- Him ---so this is not for everyone -----This promise includes all things it says -----sufferings ----verse 17 and groanings----verse 23 ------and all that is negative in this life-----God works evil for good which manifests His Glory ---we can know that every aspect of our lives is in God's hands and will be divinely used to work out our Blessings -----
Some use this scripture to say that sickness - persecution ----suffering --grief etc is good -----and that is NOT what this is saying -----
What it IS saying is that ---God uses these things to effect His own good end for His people
No matter what our situation is God will work to produce victory and provide blessings in our lives -------
Awesome and powerful ---full of hope in our bad situations -----
A Great examples of this is Joseph who was plotted against by his brothers ----and Job both suffered greatly and ended up in Victory and Blessed -----

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
My personal experience.
Will try to keep quick.
Shocking childhood ranging from physical abuse from my mum to being thrown out at 14.
Was fostered by Christian family only to be sexually abused by foster dad.
Was sexually a used by a cousin when I was about 6 years old.
Never knew my real dad.
Only 2 traumatic memories.
Mum never told me she loved.
Severe traumatic childhood trauma led to severe addiction.
The list could go on and on.
What really peeves me is when people just quote V28.
It comes across as saying "God makes what happened to you good"
I have been told that.
Sorry but that is BS.
He cannot make the sinful carried out against us good. He cannot make sin good.
So what he does is to work within us and what has happened to us.
He wants to heal us, release us and set us free from the anger, pain, hurt and unforgivness and all that baggage.
In doing and allowing him to do this we start to be confirmed to the image of Jesus.
That is what he did for me.
It was a long long process.
I forgave my foster dad who sexually abused me on his deathbed.
I sort out his estate.
If forgave my mum, and Parise God we have a great loving relationship.
He worked within what happened to me and has been using me to help others who have or are going through what I did.
Whilst what I went through was shocking (diagnosed with severer PTSD)
Yet God has worked good in that to help others because I know what they are going through and help them to understand why they do what they do and more importantly what OUR FATHER can do for us.

Praise GOD! It is wonderful to see a life GOD has been able to use.
A lot of people that have never been through a lot cannot relate to others pain, trauma, and confusion. Also, people that have really suffered, GOD is able to do a very deep work in and use for the tougher cases as they go through life.
It takes all kinds. We have a specific job to do in the Kingdom. Praise the LORD that He has redeemed all things!

What I found very sad and felt condemnation and worthless was a a point in time I sought help for a severe addiction.
I was advised the following. "It's a sin and bible says don't do"
That's one of the reasons I stopped going to church for many years.
If only if only they had have asked "Why do you gamble?
There will always be a cause of the effect.
Find the cause or explore the cause then that's the answer.
Sadly Christians shoot thier wonded.
God has called us to nurses and doctors to all he has given us.

May the LORD give us grace to minister to others as He has ministered to us and to strengthen the wounded.
This is a rudimentary spiritual principle: it's a big part of our daily Christian life.
1.) I think everyone in this thread has done a good job giving their own insights into this... as it's a principle we all live with daily.
2.) It can be put very simply: All things are not good, but God uses all things to accomplish something good.
This is a very important principle, and it's part of our daily life.

For Christians this means that even the things which are bad and extremely negative will eventually be seen as beneficial. So evil circumstances can produce positive results in eternity. Those who have suffered the most on earth as Christians will also receive the greatest rewards in Heaven. Take the sufferings of Job and Christ as examples.

It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen ( Paul’s doctrine always comes back to the death and resurrection and also the ascention of Jesus ) again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. ( he’s still Our intercessor so who can charge us ?)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ( more rhetorical inquiry to further establish his single point )
As it is written,( biblical proof to support his claim )
For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
(a now the finale of his point) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Paul’s style requires us to read larger sections because his points flow back and forth if we pluck a verse out we have to see the context to know what he’s saying he makes king speeches but is always driving at a point

paul has such faith In What he’s teaching with such a passion to explain what God has done for us who believe and how much love Jesus expressed in the cross before the cross and still today after towards mankind

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

there’s such confidence that comes from reading Paul because he truly is a revelator of things Jesus began to teach and establish in the gospel. Also John and Peter and them
it always comes back in the end to Gods love d how we can see that it is real and true and deep Paul says it a lot and everyone else too

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (NKJV).
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. It gives me assurance that despite how awful life can be with broken relationships, health and financial issues, work problems, and all the other trials and tribulations we suffer, God will ultimately weave everything together for the good in our lives as His children.
It's crazy how I can look back on the terrible times I had as a teenager (a complete train wreck overall) and actually be thankful today as a middle-aged adult that I went through those tragic experiences. I'm not sure I would have surrendered my life to God in my early 20's if everything was rosy for me as a teenager.
The purpose of molding us to children in His image. The purpose of building character in the fiery furnaces of this life.

How encouraging and inspiring!
One of my pastors made a great observation that the only element missing from the list is ourselves.
Once we become a Christian, the only one who can separate ourselves from God is us individually. We still have free will--what an awesome God to give us that choice.
