I'd like to see for once a Christan chat room service that doesnt just cater to inseceure nominal Christians who use the rooms as a clique. It's evident many people have differing views and that healthy exchanges of ideas are a good thing, but there needs to be a real ''ignore'' function that allows you to make a user in the room invisable to your screen if they continue to badger you too much or verbally assault you. what happened to me is i made some stern posts using scripture, that i felt spoke my heart....reguarding the daily bickering over doctrines like eternal security. Somone who has always in the past taken verbal shots at me proving they were not indeed walking in the Spirit , began again today to harrass me. I would have liked at that point to simply ''ignore'' them, but there isnt a function here for that. instead i just told them that they were in danger of judgment if they were not born again, and how dangerous religion is. That person encouraged a couple of people to then turn this around, and accuse me of attacks that warrented me being banned.

If this site is indeed a Christian one, and there is any conscience here for being upright before God in how it is conducted, i would suggest at least making that ''ignore'' function available so that people could block hecklers and mean-spirited people from their attacks. Make no mistake, cliques are of the world, of the flesh, and grieve the Holy Spirit of God.

in Him, mark

Well, i'm confused by your post, you started off saying 'chat room' then switch to using 'posts', which implies Forums. The Forums do have an ignore feature. At the top of the main page hit 'Control Panel' and on the left is an option for 'edit ignore list'.
If you are talking about Chat Rooms, the current reason there is no ignore feature is because of the Voice/Video feature. If you put someone on ignore you can't see when they are using mic, so you may be trying to use it yourself and it creates issues. Especially with keeping the conversation flowing because different people having different people on ignore it would be hard to keep the conversation even.
And you may say you don't use the mic/cam, but regardless the reasoning for it is still the same. This has been recommended numerous times already.
Also, i don't see how not having an ignore feature makes a site less Christian, or not Christian.

I'm sorry i didn't mean to confuse you, my forumn thread here is all about chatrooms. "posts" are lines of dialogue you enter in the chatrooms when chattting. for example, you can post a verse, a link, or just a comment or reply...in other words anything you type in and hit "enter".

secondly, a closer examination of my orginal comments here should reveal that i did not say an ignore feature had anything to do with the site being "less or more Christian". i was attempting to make a case for the ignore feature, as it seems to me if i had that option on the day i was "banned", the person who began antagonising me could have been just ignored and things would not have turned out so ugly....AND, that it was the atmosphere of carnal Christian cliques that are condusive to this type of fear stricken behavior that might have been avoided if i could have ignored the individual. i appreciate the explanation of why you dont have ignore, although i know other sites have it and it doesnt seem to cause any issues with cams....but whatever. God bless

I closely examined your words, and your words said 'if this is a Christian site.. i would suggest making an ignore feature'.

Also, i would suggest not using the word 'post' to reference the Chat Room because most people will see post and think forums.

Lastly, though there is no ignore feature, you can report people who are bothering you. Catch to your being banned is an Admin does not ban just because someone accuses you of something. They have to copy/paste the conversation as evidence of your actions. So if you were banned, it is because someone was able to show evidence to an Admin of your words/actions that they felt were wrong and worth banning.
I'm not accusing or taking sides, i have no idea what was said, and its none of my business anyways. I'm just giving an explanation on how things work.
