- “Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve Jehovah. And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.” (Joshua 24.14,15).
We need to quit excusing ourselves when we sin. Until when will we keep on resisting to Jesus? Peradventure will we carry on denying His sovereignty and trying to bargain with Him? Will we work to Jesus only seeing to our interest (Romans 16.18; Philippians 3.19) or because our delight is to contemplate the happiness seen by angels (Luke 15.10)?
We hang on to our well-being and forget that we are being in on an extraordinary plan, so marvelous that our mind is incapable of figuring this out. We need to sort our lives out based on the Holy Scripture, ditch all that keep us away from Jesus, sort out all problems caused by our messy life and sort out to live for Jesus (and only for Him) in sincerity and truth.
