Friends, Should Scotland leave the UK (United Kingdom), and get rid of its nuclear weapons?

Many Scots think so. I, a "Scott", think so, too. It is time for Scottish independence.

While one doesn't have to be a Calvinist to be a true Scotsman, many Scots are Calvinist

Presbyterians. The Scots are a proud people, and would benefit from independence from

Great Britain. It would make things interesting at least, to have another non-nuclear nation.

There are too many nations with nuclear weapons. And we can look forward to the day when

God allows the nations to beat their swords into plowshares and peace is established and

nuclear weapons are no more. In God's mercy and providence. God bless the whole world.

PS What is your opinion on this, if you have one: Should Scotland be free?

Free from the UK?

And what about Wales? Would Wales be okay on its own? And Northern Ireland, too?

Scotland would could probably cope better on its own... And technically we don't need nuclear warheads were such a tiny nation whose going to bother with us on armageddon o_O But Id still like to have a few handy so we can go down in a blazing trail of fire !

Well, Its a difficult topic. It is very easy with emotion, especially after the emotionally charged, Historically incorrect mel Gibson film 'brave heart' lol.

Can Scotland stand on its own.. probably yes, only if we kept the oil taxes from the North see. However you would have to show that this would offset the formula that in scotland each citizen gets more money per head from Tax revenue than England.

Also, we get free medical prescriptions now, but in a solo Scotland, that would be unsustainable no matter what Alex Salmond says now! (remmeber those in England still have to pay a charge of £6 for all their medicine...

There are pros and cons. I think it will be more beneficial for a un ited Kingdom for all, but that does not mean to say that Scotlan could not do it on it's own....Time will tell!

I think we should just take over britain and rename it scotland... How awesome would that be :D
