Not eligible? That is where your world-view of the Creator's love has missed the mark. We aren't at all that different, but also have missed the mark, "There is none righteous, no, not one", But, the inner ear He gave is what hears His call of faith to that love,
"But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith that we proclaim, that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him out from the dead, you will be saved." (Rm 10:9,10)
That is the level playing field we do to become a Christian!
You must be talking about why they are asking for donations on Christian Chat and possibly when at Church or TV evangelists.
But you do not have to donate if you do not want at any place.

Acts 20:33 I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
We should not try to make a profit when sharing the Bible and the good news of Jesus.
But it does cost money to run a website or Church and pay for television air time.
The question is are they trying to make a profit off of it.
With TV evangelists most likely yes and many preachers they would do it.
You probably seen the 3000 dollars donation goal for how could you miss it and thought that is a lot for one month.
But I do not know how much it costs to operate a website like this per month.

Welcome, stephencritchlow! Jesus Christ paid the full price required for you to become a Christ follower, blessed with the promise of eternity with our wonderful creator. There is no where in the world where any payment is required to become a member of the Body of Christ.
If talking about this site, if we are true followers of Christ, we should help to maintain it.
