I'm going through a spiritual battle. I feel like some type of presence has attached itself to me. At first, I told it that I believe in Jesus and he was my Lord and protector but now it's following me to work and my family has noticed strange things happening. It's been going on for over a month. It started when I reconnected with my husband that I have been separated from for nearly a year. He is going through extreme mental issues and attempted suicide a few weeks ago. The day he tried to do that, he was constantly on my mind and the exact time all of that took place I was in prayer for him. I think whatever that has attached itself to me is coming from him. I am a believer in Jesus and know he will protect me and my husband. I love my husband very much but he's in treatment and I have no idea what's going in with him. How do I deal with whatever spirit that has attached itself to me. I'm lost and professing my faith isn't making this go away!! What do I do??? I need help!!!

1 John 5:14-15

New International Version (NIV)

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

HEAVENLY FATHER I PRAY THAT MY FRIEND WHOS LONELY AND LOST CAN FIND COMFORT IN YOU BECAUSE YOU SAID IN (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. I KNOW FATHER THAT YOU KNOW WHAT IS INSIDE HER HEART PLEASE HELP HER WITH HER PROBLEMS SO THAT HE MAY FEEL YOUR LOVE, IN JESUS NAME AMEN.

Continue to rebuke the spirit, immerse yourself in the Word, pray out loud/read scripture out loud, and listen to praise & worship music. This will drive the spirit crazy and he'll leave ;)

If you attend a church, you may ask to talk to the pastor. If you feel that he can be of help, maybe you can bring your husband with you next time. A mature Christian CAN be a really big help right now.

Don't be afraid...God is on your side :)

SISTER DO ARE YOU GOING TO CHURCH RIGHT NOW? It is very important that you go to your Pastor or your leadership and get them lay hands on you and your husband, do you have a good girlfriend?, very important that you have a very good support network around both of you, You are a CHILD OF GOD SEATED AT THE throne of God RIGHT IN CHRIST, " THATS YOUR POSITION " what you're going through now is your condition, every day challenges, but to overcome your condition you need to know your position in Christ Jesus. Your church, the house of God is the heavens gate in earth in your life and your family.
EPH 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
I'm praying for you my sisiter AMEN.

I second this. I didn't grow up in a family or church where rebuking spirits was something that was done. But I found myself overwhelmed with spiritual oppression (temptations to sin and sinful thoughts) to the point that one day I decided to give it a try, still feeling afraid deep down that it's some kind of heresy! Yet, I knew the disciples did it in the Bible and I couldn't find any Scripture that said it was wrong to do (though it does give us precautions).

So I basically asked God to forgive me if what I was about to do wasn't pleasing to him, and then told my "tempter" to leave me alone in Jesus' name. And guess what? In an instant all the temptations were gone and I could walk away from the whole situation completely free! It continued other days, but I would respond with rebukes again and every time it worked.

But here's the other side to it. Knowing how to free myself of this temptation, I regardless would allow the temptation to continue sometimes because the sinful side of my heart hoped I would give in. Despite knowing that rebuking the evil worked, many times I chose not to, to my own shame and regret...

As others have pointed out, we really don't have to fight these battles alone. In fact, the Bible teaches the opposite. Isolating yourself when oppressed is exactly what Satan wants you to do. I was isolated during my dark days with no one to confide in, and I never want to go back to that! I still believe that having others pray with you and reading Scripture together is better than rebuking spirits in many situations.
