Hello! :)

After a conversation I had tonight, I just thought I'd post a link to a website that I found that tells you your spiritual gifts. I don't know how reliable it is, but I think it got mine pretty spot on. Just wanted to share it, as some people don't seem to know what their spiritual gifts are!

#1 Poverty. (same score)
#2 Discernment.
#3 Giving.
#4 Exhortation.
#5 Missionary.

Didn't even know what half of the words meant before i read the explanation haha.
Some of them i'm sure are correct, others i don't know, might have to find that out sooner or later i suppose.
 
#1 Music (Obvious because music is my life. It's my primary form of communication in many situations.)
#2 Craftsmanship (Also Obvious because I've been writing since I was old enough to write.)
#3 Encouragement (Glad to have this... This first time I took a test like this, exhortation was my top one. I've always had the desire to exhort,
but for a season many people were not coming my way. Recently, I've got many coming to me and I love it.)
#4 Writing
#5 Hospitality (Yeah! I was raised in a very inhospitable environment and since I returned from Africa, that was what the Lord had placed upon my
heart to pursue. Glad to know that it's becoming a part of me finally.)
#6 Wisdom (Also something the Lord spoke to me about while in Africa. I've experienced a lot and am continually growing in wisdom because of it.)
#7 Tongues Speaking
#8 Administration (I am a teacher, thus it comes with the territory. I am type A to the core. It really is an illness ;D)
#9 Pastoring
#10 Faith
#11 Exhortation
#12 Leadership ( I don't mind leading, but I prefer to have another capable person in control.)
#13 Prophecy (Not sure I agree with this one. I've been told and it's been confirmed over and over that I have a prophetic gifting. I'm not one to
foresee the end of the world, but I do receive frequent dreams, visions, and words of knowledge.)
#14 Mercy (Not sure I agree with this one. I am a very compassionate person in MOST situations.)

Interesting List... Many of them overlap though. It was interesting to see how many of them I scored the same on. Out of 30 choices, I only had 14 separate scores.
 
I don't believe in these kinds of things. God will give you the tools you need when you need them.
 
You are very correct lil_christian, but God also gives us strengths that allow us to function best in specific capacities within the body of Christ. Ultimately, it is the Lord who reveals and confirms these things in each of us, but that doesn't mean the tools are bad. We just take them with a grain of salt, and give the results to the Lord. If we can't be a hand and ask to be a foot, or be and ear and prefer to be an eye; then we are obviously one or the other. Many people use spiritual gifts as an excuse not to do what they are not strong in, but the fact is we are told to seek all of these gifts. Just because you do not have the gift of evangelism does not mean that you are called to sit on your butt and not evangelize. God can and will still use you outside of your gifting. But we also have longterm strengths that He uses us in.

I disagree. Sometimes people are odd from birth and have unusual abilities they can't explain and struggle through life. Only to learn later that God gave those gifts to them and He has a purpose for them.
 
but...why worry in the first place about what you have or haven't been given? God will reveal to you what He's given to you on His perfect timing...if some people struggle, they need to rely on God and rely and not on a test
 
You're right, gotta rely on God to show you what your gifts are for. :)

I wasn't talking about the test, I just meant gifts in general.
 
I think one of the reasons people take the test to find out their spiritual gifts is because sometimes we don't recognise the gifts that we have ourselves. God has given us gifts, but sometimes we don't use them! As soon as you're aware of the things you are able to do, you're more likely to do them.
Well, that's what I think anyway :)

I wasn't fully aware of mine, but now I am!

1. Music
2. Hospitality
3. Encouragement
4. Craftsmanship
5. Exhortation

All I can do now is try and make the most of the gifts I've been given :)
 
So I took the test, but not because I want to know what my gifts are. I just took it just because...the top ones I got:


1. Music
2.Discerning
3.Pastoring
4.Faith (I'm not so sure about that one.)
5.Prophecy
 
Funny thing about those 4 (excluding faith), most of those have been confirmed by God (I feel He's calling me into the music ministry), and through my parents (who are strong believers), I've preached God's word with a passion in my heart, and I'm not sure about prophecy, but my mom and dad say I have some of that...
