I'm sixteen and help as a leader of the youth group at my church. Over the six years I've been here I've gotten to know everyone in the youth group but still this youth group is lacking spiritual relationships with one another which are essential for us to have as a growing youth group. I've planned several activities for our youth group and take somewhat of a leadership role. No matter how many activities I plan or how much the youth group is together, still our spirititual relationship just aren't there. I have a vision for this group that we will be able to help one another and carry each other's burdens and just be there for one another. I just need some way to inspire this group to overcome this apathy. I want us to be comfortable expressing our feelings to one another and making comments in class or at devos. I don't want us to be in the state of spiritual apathy that we are but I just don't know what to do. I feel like a failure as leader. I mean everyone else sort of looks to me to plan things for our group and to energize us but i just feel so weak and powerless and I don't know what to do. I've gone to God in prayer about this so many times, but still I just don't know. :( Also my girlfriend is part of this youth group. She is the only one who I am able to have a spiritual relationship with and sometimes when i'm at church and am feeling unmotivated about the youth group I just give up on interacting with the other teens and spend all my time with her. I know I should foucus on the youth group but I just don't see anything I can do to help but i know i should.Any Ideas and prayers would be greatly appriciated. Thank you
Your brother in Christ,
Heath

hey heath i know exactly what u are going through because i am in the same position and it is extremely exhausting and frustrating, but if there is one thing i can suggest is if that talent u have there in the youth isn't working than try to do other things in the church as well as with the group and see how that goes. I had to do that and it is starting to pay off. I hope this helps and God bless
