As in my private affairs I have been known to be frugal, but God has reminded me today that we must not try to be sparing in the Lord's service. As our Christmas Season approaches and we see the need to give gifts and we also see need to be our ever-loving frugal miser of accounts let's remember that God wants us not to deny Him the opportunity of working Miracles on behalf of the Multitudes. Our attempts at even responsible personal concerns in frugality will frustrate His purpose as well as impoverish our own lives.
I am reminded today that we come far short as Christian Workers if we can only exercise faith for the meeting of our own needs and do not reach out to others in want. We think as His servants that like the Levites we are entitled to expect God's people to offer us their tenth. What we are prone to forget, however, is that the Levites were in turn under obligation to offer their tenth. Every Christian, no matter how small his assets, should always be a giver. Only to receive, without giving, is to court the disaster of Spiritual stagnation. "As poor, yet making many rich." 2 Cor. 6:10.
Let us encourage each other and Gods faithfulness to us by allowing His river of life to flow out of us this Christmas. May we see not the accounts at hand alone, but our investments in Him as our way of life as a Christ-centered person along our way. Pray with me over His purposes this Season and God will bless us all!
