I've recently become a huge fan of a band and non of them are Christians. They are atheists I think. I've also become a huge fan of a YouTuber. He is a agnostic atheist. This sort of terrifys me. It as well stresses me out. I'm scared if I become a huge fan,I'm going to lose my faith some how. I know Christians must accept those who aren't Christians, which I do, the band and the YouTuber are both really good people. They have good personalities and the band writes good music that is inspirational and the YouTuber has relatable qualities to me and is also inspirational. I feel like their religion shouldn't matter, but it just scares me that I'm gonna believe or do things that aren't Christian-like that they do. Is this sort of ridiculous? I feel like it is, but I really want to know if it's a bad thing to be a huge fan of the band and the YouTuber and be a Christian. Thanks for all your help.

If you fear your faith may be put in jeopardy by these people, then don't listen to their music and follow them on youtube anymore. Christians are fans of alot of things, including music. I'm a Michael Jackson fan, listen to his music, but I don't try to imitate and dance like him and grab myself like he did..lol.. It's up to you but if you think your faith will somehow be affected, then it's best to stop listening to the "temptation."

Thank you for your reply! I get what you're saying, I don't imitate them, I'm just a huge fan, but yeah. I get that. My problem is that I am just a huge fan so it would be hard to give them up...but yeah I do understand that

You're welcome.. :) Just use your common sense and if something still doesn't feel right, then maybe walk away from it for awhile.

If they are speaking/writing against your faith then you need to step back and rethink following them. I'm guessing the fact that you know what these two believe means they are speaking on it and you are learning it that way. So it may pay to be cautious. I get being a fan of a band, but if a band, person, anything.. has a negative affect on your faith it needs to be stepped away from. If it's not then it shouldn't matter unless they are focusing on subject matter that would fill your mind with wrong thoughts (sex, drugs, other sins)

Yeah, they both don't really talk about their religion, especially the YouTube person. He doesn't really talk about his religion at all and neither does the band. Again, thank you for this. You are amazing, thanks so so much

I am a music minister in TWO churches....and I recently counted over 100 concerts that I have personally attended in my lifetime so far..and only 2 were CHRISTIAN. IS there talent amount non CHRISTIANS? Yes...is there things we can positively learn from NON CHRISTIANS? YES Can non-CHRISTIANS become CHRISTIAN? Yes. Let me give you a great example. One of my favorite rock bands when I was a teenager was Grand Funk Railroad. I had every album they ever released. I began to sense that Mark Farner, the lead guitarist and singer, was seeking GOD but did not know it. What did I do? I started a faithful prayer for him...and would keep him bathed in prayer every time I thought of Grand Funk. THis went on for 20 yrs. THen, one day, I was in a gospel shop and found a CHRISTIAN release by Mark Farner. I bought it, opened it up and read Mark's testimony and the church that he attended in Grand Trunk, Michigan, along with his pastor's name. I wrote that pastor and asked him to pass a letter over to Mark Farner directly to him, which was in a separate envelope that included another envelope with my mailing address on it and a stamp. WOW..was I surprised when I got a personal signed letter from Mark Farner, thanking me for the years of prayers and being an intercessor on his behave and how others around the world were caught up in the same spirit, praying for his salvation. NOW..Mark reaches out to others as a witness for CHRIST in ways that he never thought were possible. There have been other rock 'n roll favorites over the years that I have seen become CHRISTIAN, such as Alice Cooper, Kenny Livgren of Kansas..etc.
I look at it this way...if GOD can use a donkey for HIS purposes, HE surely can use me, you, musicians or anybody...the donkey can never become a CHRISTIAN. Does that mean that we are to shun that donkey? A lot of our needs in life that is provided by GOD, can come from NonCHRISTIANS..believe it or not.
