Very often people lose faith in God and sometimes even blame God, when things are going really tough in their lives, whether it be a marriage crisis, work crisis, money crisis etc.

While living on this earth, we are not exempted from suffering just because we are Christians. Although we have an Almighty Powerful God who can fix all our problems, many times He does not.
Why doesn’t He?
- Because He wants to change us so that we may have a godly character
Romans 5:3-4…because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance,
character; and character, hope

The bible does say that trials will come
- James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds
It says “whenever” and not “if”, meaning we will face them.
The testing of your faith come through the trials and it develops perseverance
- James 1:3…because the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
For what
- James 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not
lacking anything.

During the trials we are undergoing God’s discipline; for what?
Hebrews 12:10..God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No
discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

It is a very painful and difficult time when trials come and we have to suffer but we know that we have God who is our strength and our comforter.
Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

Focus on the spiritual life and not the physical because the physical will rot and die but the spiritual is eternal.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

The Refiner's Fire can burn away spiritual impurities and perform a kind of alchemy in the heart of the believer. What Jesus willingly endured during His life as a man should inspire us all to embrace our own trials as suffering servants of the Most High.
