The Lord has set the stage for the end of the age.

Luke 21:1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

We often look at Matthew 24 to see the signs of the Lord's coming, but this chapter in Luke gives us a unique perspective. First, this section about the poor widow is huge. The Catholic church is not a "poor widow", they are a world power, they control one of the largest banks in the world, and it is fair to describe the Catholic church as the "whore of Babylon" that "sits on seven hills". Consider the evil, nasty scandals the Catholic church has been involved in from their association with Nazi Germany, to the child trafficking scandal and pedophile priests. So there is a contrast here between a poor widow which would be the church, giving all the living she has, and this great golden edifice of the Catholic church as the "temple of God" but that is totally corrupt.

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

I want to look at this chapter considering what happened to the temple in 70 AD as a prophetic fulfillment, but also as something foreshadowing the end of the age. The Jewish leaders had rejected Jesus as the Messiah, they claimed He was casting out demons by the prince of the demons, Beelzebub. From that moment Jesus declared their judgement on them saying they had committed the unforgivable sin. 40 years later, to the day, the temple was cast down, not one stone left upon another. So Jesus said this judgment on the 9th of Av in 30AD. The 40 year period is the sign of Jonah, along with His death, burial and resurrection. During these forty years the Jews were given many signs that God was judging them. But my point is that this attack on Jerusalem and judgment on the Jews was brewing for forty years. What is happening today with WW3 has been brewing for forty years. The reason that the stones were cast down so that there was not one stone left upon another was because the Romans were stealing the gold that the stones were covered with. So why did the Jewish leaders reject Jesus as the Messiah? If we read the four gospels we can see a rock solid case made for Jesus being the Messiah that was prophesied and that fulfilled all the prophecies. The reason they gave was ridiculous, Jesus is fulfilling the prophecies to come with healing in His wings because "Beelzebub is helping him"? That does not make any sense. Jesus even points out that if Satan is destroying Satan's kingdom then his kingdom cannot stand. But it reveals a lot. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Look at the Catholic church, they are intertwined with demons, they have worked with demons to build up their massive edifice. It is not unreasonable to think that the Jewish religious leaders had also become involved with demons and witchcraft. They refused to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah because He threatened their kingdom of darkness. In many ways the Mafia and drug cartels are much more honest and transparent than the Catholic church. We think they are evil, but they are not nearly as evil as these evil religious ones. Jesus said they stole widows houses and for a pretense made long prayers. The Mafia doesn't do that, they steal from other criminals, they are loan sharks to people who can't get legitimate loans, they offer protection for money, they sell drugs to people who want to buy drugs. They commit a lot of crimes and yet they wouldn't steal a widows home. Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, not as a drug kingpin. We know that many Freemasons and Satanic priests are also Catholic priests.

So then the context of the end of the age is something akin to Custer's last stand. Satan has been lying and deceiving for thousands of years, but in the end all the lies are being exposed. The first ones to get judged are not the Romans, it is the Jewish religious leaders at the start of the church age and the Catholic religious leaders at the end of the church age.

We also learn how Satan has been able to operate. Not one stone will be left upon another. You have a Bishop or Priest and he tells you "the word of God" and soon you simply trust what he tells you rather than going to the word of God. When that is the case you are a stone (believers are living stones) that is "upon another stone". Your faith is not resting on the word of God, your faith is resting upon what the priest tells you or what the Bishop tells you. What happens when you discover they have been lying? You are cast down.

This is the key point. Do not think that the Romans don't believe in Jesus and the Jewish leaders don't believe in Jesus so they are both one. No, they are all liars, cheats, thieves and murderers. The Romans discover that the Jewish leaders were rebellious or deceived them, then they come and destroy them. The same thing will happen at the end of the age, everyone will discover they have a reason to hate the Catholic church and so they will destroy her. It could be because they helped Hitler, or because they trafficked kids, or because of the Pedophile priests, or because of things the Vatican bank did, or who knows what other evils they are currently involved in. They are likened to a whore because they use seduction, lies, and all forms of deceit.

Also, consider this, they refused to confess that Jesus was the Messiah because they wanted the vineyard for themselves. That is how it is in the world, everyone is fighting to be the "king of the hill". This hill is a heap of collapse, but they are all fighting with each other to be king. This is the context, the Lord has set the stage for the end of the age.

Luke 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

We must keep these two questions in mind, they are different.

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Look at the first point, all war is a matter of deception. This is a fight over who is the Christ, who is the King. We are told from the outset that it will be by the father of lies. First and foremost we must know the truth, we must know Jesus Christ, the incarnated word of God and we must be able to hear His voice so that we will not follow another. Notice the Lord does not say "don't listen to them", no He says "don't go after them". There are some who expose these liars and cheats. There are whistleblowers. There are prosecutors. You can't do this job unless you are willing to go over every word with a fine tooth comb. Not everyone is suited for that job, but some are and because of people like Esther and Mordecai we can expose Haman and his evil plots. So first and foremost we must take heed to not be deceived and very few believers even know how to discern a false prophet. I have shared previously on this topic, but if you think that you discern a false prophet from a true prophet by whether or not a prediction comes true then you are setting yourself up to be deceived. Go to the Bible, see exactly what the Bible says and you will see your error.

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

This is a strange warning. I would have thought "when you see wars and commotions" not "when you hear". The Lord is not talking about a battle, He is talking about propaganda. The CIA and other intelligence agencies specialize in manipulating the masses with propaganda. The goal is to make people terrified. If you are terrified you will be willing to hand over authority to the government to "keep you safe". This is the same thing the Catholic church did selling indulgences. They teach you the word of God, they tell you about sin and hell, and then you start to get terrified about going to hell. Do they teach you about justification by faith or the Lord's redeeming blood? Nope, not until Martin Luther. Instead they tell you that you must pay them money so their dead relatives can get out of purgatory, and of course you also hope that your children will pay to get you out of purgatory. This has to come first.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

But that kind of fear porn can only last for so long before someone will find out the truth. It is like the saying that you can fool most of the people most of the time but you can't fool all the people any of the time. There will always be a few who will not be fooled. The truth will come out and that will result in wars as people are not happy being slaves to others and being cheated and deceived by others.

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

This makes no sense unless earthquakes and famines and pestilences are acts of war. We know that Genghis Khan used bioweapons in war, throwing infected people with the plague over the walls of cities to make the inhabitants sick. So pestilences here are not simply sicknesses, but bioweapons used in war. We also know that famine is a very common tactic in war. Use an embargo or in some way cut off food and water to your enemy and they will have to surrender. We also know that the military has DEW (Direct Energy Weapons) that can cause earthquakes. It is stunning that Jesus knew about this two thousand years ago. Remember this age is about all the world leaders rejecting Jesus as Lord and all of them fighting to be king of the hill using whatever tools they can get their hands on.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

This verse is referring to the apostles during the apostolic age. He is telling them "before all these things you apostles will suffer persecution". So anyone who thinks this prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD is clearly wrong. The apostolic age went through John and he died decades after the temple was destroyed. The world wars, propaganda by intelligence agencies, bioweapons, manufactured famines, and DEW are all things that are coming long after the apostolic age. But Jesus is also comparing what happened prior to the destruction of the temple with what is happening right now in this generation.

Now will I rise, saith the Lord

Isaiah 33:10 Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. 11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you. 12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire. 13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

Just as I am

1
Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
2
Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot;
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
3
Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt;
Fightings within, and fears without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
4
Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind;
Yes, all I need, in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
5
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
6
Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

And it shall turn to you for a testimony

Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

This is the proper way to look at persecution. Yesterday we went to an event where a Pastor blesses this years High School graduates at the high school. We handed out New Testaments to all the graduates. In recent years we had handed out about 125 New Testaments but this was a bigger graduating class, this year they had 300. When it was all over we estimated 10% of the kids refused a New Testament. We handed out less than 90, so that also meant we estimated there were probably less than 100 kids there. This was not a mandatory event. So then two thirds of the high school graduates declined to come and be blessed and of those that did choose to come another ten percent didn't want a New Testament. However, the best way to look at this is what the Lord just said here. With all this outward pressure on kids where almost three fourths of the graduates don't want the blessing and don't want the New Testament look at the one fourth who do. Coming to be blessed and taking a New Testament means something, it is a testimony for each of those kids.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Take a look at the New Testament, it is an amazing book. They have done statistical analysis of it which is utterly amazing. For two thousand years the adversaries have tried to resist and gainsay the New Testament and have been unable. That same wisdom is available to all of us.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

This is good news, not bad. It was this betrayal that really helped me abandon the world and go all in for the Lord. I saw first hand how friends will betray you and it was a mercy. I also saw how genuine Christians, even if they weren't your friend, even if you had mocked them, would not betray you. It was a humbling experience but it was the Lord's mercy to help pull the curtain back on what an evil, ugly kingdom the kingdom of darkness is.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

This might be the most important verse in this chapter. We often say to "get right with the Lord". What does that mean? Well, the apostles were right with the Lord and they were hated of all men for Jesus' name's sake. Just because you are hated doesn't mean anything. But are you hated for Jesus' name's sake? That is an important indicator of whether or not you are right with the Lord. None of us want to be hated, we will do whatever we can to not be hated. We may appear stupid, but we aren't. We know when we say a word that is offensive to others. This verse indicates that you have been faithful to the Lord to share the full counsel of God despite the cost.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

I like this, it also is the part that has turned out for a testimony. The world knows how hard they are attacking you, they know how much hate they are sending your way, they know the persecutions, and despite all of that you keep on keeping on. That is a testimony. I remember the first time I went through this withering attack. I got down on my knees and I prayed wondering what I should do. Then I read in Galatians where Paul said he did not give place to them, not for five minutes. So that is what I did, next day I am speaking as though nothing happened and you should have seen the shocked faces.

That means by 2030 the age of grace is over.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

So many teach that this was fulfilled in 70 AD. But when they teach that I wonder, are they hated of all men for Jesus' name's sake? How can one verse apply to all believers and the next is specific to those prior to 70 AD? So instead I feel the Lord is giving us an example, Jerusalem went through a withering attack and they are going to simply brush it off like water off a duck's back. We also should do the same. Open your eyes, Israel is hated of all men, they are betrayed by people claiming to be Jews, people claiming to be their friends, take that as your example. The whole world knows how much hate Israel has had directed their way and the fact that they are still standing is a testimony to them.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Douglas MacArthur is considered one of the greatest generals of all time. Not simply in the US but "of all time". No one has conquered more land or had a better ratio of men killed compared to the enemy. For every American soldier under MacArthur who died ten soldiers of the enemy died. The landing at Inchon is considered a master class in catching the enemy off guard. But what really separates MacArthur from the rest is his retreat during the Korean war. By all accounts it was masterful. Knowing how to attack is one thing, knowing how to retreat is another. Very few can do both well. The US plans were betrayed by the Cambridge five, they leaked the plans to the Chinese. Perhaps the most famous retreat in recent history is Dunkirk. There is a time for the landing at Inchon and there is a time for the retreat at Dunkirk.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

We need to be able to discern between paper tigers (Satan and his minions) and the Day of the Lord. Soldiers do not need to discern, they simply need to follow orders, but officers, especially generals need to discern. If you cannot discern you are not qualified to be an officer.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

In other words you need to be able to discern at least nine months ahead and preferably a year or two ahead. If you have a six month old baby it will be a horrible woe to you. So then, was the Lord speaking to you fifteen or sixteen months earlier warning you and you simply ignored the warning? I left NYC in 2021. I told the members of the church that the Day of the Lord was at hand. They poo poo'd it. According to them this had happened before, things would soon return to normal again. But they didn't. Instead those who remained were like frogs in the pot that is slowly heating up. It is mental torture to have the Lord continually telling you that you need to leave. Sell your house, quit your job, and yet you are continually telling the Lord no. You keep coming up with excuses and justifications for why you don't need to listen to the Lord and every day the cost to heed what He is saying gets greater and greater. When we left we were able to sell the house in a week, we made enough money to make a smooth and easy transition. But today if they try to leave they will be bankrupt. So now they are trapped. Even though I left I continue to join Bible studies in the Fall and Spring on Zoom. We have witnessed what is going on for those who stayed and now their whole focus is on mental health as the strain has gotten too much for them.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The times they are a changin. That is the fact, at one time it is the times of the Gentiles beginning. That is how the church age began. At another time it is the times of the Gentiles being fulfilled. That is how the church age ends. The times of the Gentiles refers to the time given for the Nations to hear and receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. We call this the "age of grace" because grace is given to people to be forgiven of their sins. But their is a time limit. Yes, God is merciful, but there is a limit. Jesus said you need to forgive 70x7 times, or 490 times. The gospel has gone to the four corners of the earth and each corner needs 490 years to receive forgiveness. In total that is 1960 years. The clock began in 70 AD when the temple was cast down, and the times of the nations had fully begun by 71 AD when they celebrated their victory over Israel. They get 1,960 years to receive God's grace, that means by 2030 the age of grace is over.

When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Their are those who have done a remarkable job looking at the lunar eclipses and solar eclipses and showing how they are making signs and then relating them to previous events like World wars and the holocaust. In the stars we have had the Revelation 12 sign, a sign in the stars, and we have had the Writing on the Wall sign, a sign written out with solar eclipses. Distress of nations with perplexity could refer to the pandemic, could refer to the recent perplexity all over the earth, and of course the sea and the waves roaring would refer to concern over Global warming, sea level rise, and all the various hurricanes and tsunamis. Yes, all these things have happened before in human history and they were distressing then, too. For example, at the time of Jonah Nineveh had a solar eclipse they witnessed, so these signs are part of the sign of Jonah.

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Interestingly a major side effect of the vaccine that was mandated is myocarditis, men's hearts failing them. But you could say it wasn't due to fear but due to the vaccine. This is more specific, this is referring to the three days of darkness. You will see the powers of heaven shaken and if you are astute you will see a shadow of this on the earth. Trump being elected is shaking the powers of heaven. Yesterday several hundred pedophiles were arrested, that is the power of heaven being shaken. This war going on with Israel, Yemen, Iran, Hezbollah, Houthis, Hamas, Ukraine, Russia, China, and the US is the powers of heaven being shaken. We are about to see a massive shaking that will cause people to simply keel over by fright. This is the Lord's righteous judgment. When I was preaching the gospel in college I was told by many that religion is a crutch for the weak. Well, the "weak" who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and savior are not going to be the ones whose heart fails them for fear, it will be those arrogant ones who thought they were so strong they didn't need Jesus.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

This happens at the very end of the seven year period. I believe this will be in 2031 after the 1,960 years of grace has ended.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

These things have begun to come to pass. All believers should have already lifted up their heads to see their redemption drawing near.

That ye may be accounted worthy to escape

Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

We call this the "fig tree" prophecy, but the reality is this is about many trees. At the same time that Israel was handed over to the Jews in 1948 there were many other nations in the Middle east that were formed, every one of them has a national tree, however, none of them have the fig tree as a national tree. Therefore it is possibly a reference to human government after the fall of man since the first mention of the fig tree is at the time of man's fall. Or it could specifically refer to the UN which was formed in 1945. We know that when Antichrist kingdom first rises there are ten kings, but within a few years he takes over. If we apply this prophecy to the UN we could say they will cease in 2029 when they are 84, before turning 85. If we apply it to Israel as a "sinful nation" that will come to an end in 2032 before they turn 85.

30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

The Jews walking out of the graves and into the land of Israel was a major fulfillment of prophecy telling us that the end of the age was nigh. There were many other signs saying the same thing. It was the start of the computer age and ultimately when the Beast system began to rise out of the sea. It was also the start of the nuclear age and when we could finally imagine a situation in which a third of all people on earth could die. Space exploration actually began with the research into ballistic missiles which took place in WW2. So it was the beginning of the Space age, nuclear age, and computer age all at once.

32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Think of how much was invented in this age, it is amazing. Chemical weapons were first used in WW1, but by the end of WW2 the chemical companies were off and running with fertilizer, pesticide, and many other chemicals. Likewise with bioweapons. As a result of these two world wars sorcery became a worldwide phenomenon (by sorcery I am referring to Pharmakeia). Radio came into existence after WW1, TV came into existence after WW2. But the use of printed pages, radio and TV intelligence agencies and marketing companies studied how to manipulate people with propaganda and the use of lies and deceit grew exponentially.

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

We have seen all these signs, all of this has taken place since Israel and the UN were formed and we have been given a timeline which is quickly coming to the end. Seeing as all these prophecies have been fulfilled, the Lord is speaking faith that His word concerning the rapture will also be fulfilled.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Think about hollywood and TV, they are all about leading you to be overcharged with surfeiting, drunkenness and the cares of this life. People watch the news to stay informed, not realizing the real goal is to keep you unawares. It may not be that easy to see the evil influence that intelligence agencies like the CIA have played, but you should certainly see how mass marketing has been used to have this negative impact on the world.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Materialism is a snare that has come on the face of the whole earth. If you love the Lord with all your heart and serve Him you would never get caught in this snare. But if you love money you will.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The rapture is our escape, it is when we shall stand before the Son of Man. It is crystal clear that you must be accounted worthy. If you are not accounted worthy at the time of the rapture you will be left behind. However, in the tribulation if you refuse to take the mark of the beast at the cost of your job and your life, then you will be accounted worthy.

Chickens and Pigs

Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

This word translated as "perfect" means to be carried through completely to an end. It means to be fully accomplished. For example, when a prophecy is fully completed and fulfilled by the event that was prophesied, that would be what this is talking about. So in the gospel of John Jesus says "my meat is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work". This word translated "finish" is the same word that is translated "perfect".

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

For example, if you are washing your shirt and every day you keep putting it in the wash trying to remove a stain then it is clear that the soap you are using is not doing the job. The fact that you can still tell that the stain is there means it did not completely accomplish the job of cleaning that shirt.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

For example, I have seen statistics that pornography is a huge problem in Christianity. This is true of both pastors and members of the congregation. The numbers are estimates, but many of these estimates are that a third of all members of church struggle with an addiction to pornography. This means that they may confess their sins over and over and over again, but the term "addiction" means even after confessing they still remember their sin. So now we have two separate problems, one is the sinful event that they have confessed, and the other is the desire to commit that sin which is still with them.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Here we discover something astounding. There are two possible attitudes toward the blood of Jesus. Either you see that Jesus' blood and sacrifice is separate and distinct from you, or you see that you have become part of the Body of Christ, that it is no longer you that live but Christ that lives in you, and that you have been crucified with Christ. You have to become one with the Lord's sacrifice in order for it to be carried to completion. Yes, you can pray Lord forgive me of my sin, and His blood will wash you of that sin. But until you have experienced dying with the Lord that process of dealing with the sin is not complete. This does not mean you become sinless, anyone who says they are without sin is a liar. Nor does it mean that you have "arrived". Paul said he had not arrived but he pressed on towards the mark.

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

No, what it means is that you have a new heart. You now have a new purpose in life, to do God's will. Sinners have a desire to be righteous, hence they offer burnt offerings and sacrifices. The movie "Spotlight" tells the story about how the Boston Globe broke the story of the Catholic church shuffling pedophile priests around from parish to parish. There is a scene where the PR guy for the church tells the editor of the paper that "these are good people, they do a lot of good for the community". He wasn't denying the sin that every year they were covering up, rather he hoped that the "good" they were doing compensated for the "evil" they were covering up.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

God does not have pleasure in this. Yes, it demonstrates that these ones have a conscience, they do feel guilt and shame at their sin, and they are trying to be righteous, but their righteousness is as filthy rags.

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

In the New Testament we become "a living sacrifice". It is not the bull or the goat that is come to do God's will but us. In the OT they must sacrifice bulls and goats every year. In the New Testament we want to hear the testimonies of those who have sacrificed themselves every year.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

To be sanctified is to be separated unto God. By changing your location you change your status. If I was in an idol temple worshipping an idol I was separated unto that idol and that location means I was an idolater. I can confess that sin and be forgiven, but until I change my location I will continually be guilty of idolatry. This is what people miss, yes, the blood of Jesus' cleanses you from all sins, but because of that you can actually change your location. As a sinner you could not enter into the Holy place, but because of the blood of Jesus you can. A sinner cannot do the will of God, but because of the blood of Jesus I can do the will of God.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

If someone is addicted to sin, that sin is his enemy. A liar can confess their sins, and be saved. But if you are still a liar you can't be a minister of the Lord. You cannot be one who is come to do the Lord's will if you are continuously being caught in lies. This liar will have to confess they are a liar and change their location, that would be like death to them. For example, suppose you cheated and lied in college to get your degree, and then cheated and lied to get your job. On a daily basis you are confessing to the Lord that you are a sinner and the Lord's blood is dealing with that. But as long as you continue to live that lie you have not changed your location. You are not sanctified. If you want to actually do the Lord's will you will have to come clean and yes, that may mean public humiliation and loss of job. Think of that public humiliation and loss of job as being one with the crucified Christ. Now you can truly testify that you have been crucified with Christ and your testimony will help many others who are also living a lie.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

How many have missed this verse? The blood of Jesus washes away your sins, no caveat, no conditions. However, for those who are sanctified, those who are separated unto the Lord that one offering perfects them forever. Consider the guy who is living the lie, he thinks if I confess and come clean they will kill me. But when we hear his testimony we can't because of the Lord's sacrifice. We know we are all sinners saved by grace, we know we have all been forgiven and we are required to forgive others just as the Lord forgave us. Why is it that a third of church members are struggling with addiction to sin? They are not sanctified. They have one foot in the world and one foot in the church, or worse. It is like chickens and pigs. The chicken is involved in the breakfast, the pig is fully consecrated. If you are a chicken, bringing your offering like an egg each week hoping that will be accepted by the Lord then you are not fully sanctified, separated unto the Lord.

The rapture event is the fulfillment of "it is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me"

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

How is it that many miss this point? To be saved is to have the laws of God put in your hearts and to be written on your mind. It seems Christianity has skipped that part and they have reduced it to God remembering your sins and iniquities no more. There is a change of heart and a change of mind. In the Old Testament unclean animals do not have a cloven hoof and they do not chew the cud. For example, a pig does have a cloven hoof but it doesn't chew the cud. This is a picture. A cloven hoof means your walk has been dealt with by the cross of Christ. Chewing the cud means you are considering the word of God and meditating on it throughout the day. Maybe you read a verse in the morning but now you bring it back up a few hours later, and then, even at the end of the day you bring it back up again. If God puts His laws in your heart it will affect your walk. Perhaps you no longer hang out at the bar. Maybe you no longer have season tickets to that sports team. The places you go has been impacted by the cross of Christ. Also, the word of God is being written on your mind. Every day you are thinking on and meditating on the word of God.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

This is how you break free of sinful addictions.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

This is a picture of the rapture. The rapture is a new and living way, and it is us entering the holiest by the blood of Jesus. But this is also a picture of our daily life. The rapture is simply the manifestation of what you do every day. It is bringing to fulfillment the faith you have been living. If your daily life is the reality of "It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me" then the fulfillment of that prophecy is the rapture event.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God

21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

When you spend time in the word your body is washed with water. This is what Paul said in Ephesians, that Jesus is washing the bride with the water of the word. When you are around the priests in the holy place who are offering up sacrifices and offerings they are dipping the brush into the blood and sprinkling it. Everyone gets sprinkled. So if I am listening to another brother or sister share it is as though their testimony is sprinkling all of us who are listening with the blood. This is righteous. If you go to a football game surrounded by a bunch of fanatical idol worshippers you will get sprinkled with this foul spirit and it will contaminate your conscience. So then, it is perfectly righteous that if you go to hear someone share their testimony of the Lord you will also get sprinkled, but this time with the cleansing blood of Jesus which will sprinkle an evil conscience. There is a benefit to being sanctified, separated unto the Lord and to His will.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

How do we keep our spirit burning and alive? You hold fast your profession of faith without wavering. This word is used to describe Pilate witnessing Jesus' good confession. Jesus was being accused, slandered, and facing a horrible death penalty and yet He did not waver. This is what this means, in order to come clean you will also be crucified with Christ, but you need to hold fast to the good confession. Don't blame others, don't make excuses. I am on a Christian forum and I see people provoking one another every day. We use terms like "trigger". They mock each other, ridicule each other, etc. But here we are to "provoke one another to love and good works". You do this by sharing a genuine testimony of the Lord. When I hear someone share a genuine experience of the Lord Jesus it provokes me. For example, when I listen to Vicki Goforth Parnell it provokes me to have a closer walk with the Lord. Finally, don't forsake the assembling of ourselves together. We are not sinless, we will be offended and offend others. We need to deal with that. You don't simply curl up in a corner, forsaking the assembling is how you get separated from the herd and become easy prey for the wolves and lions seeking to devour you.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

What does this mean? Consider the context. This chapter began with the blood of bulls and goats unable to take away sins. It began with us discovering there are two ways to look at the Lord's blood washing away our sins. You can see yourself as completely separate from Him, like He was the bull or goat. Or you can see yourself as a part of the Body of Christ and that you are crucified with Christ. Instead of being involved in church like a chicken, you are fully sanctified like that pig that gave its life for your breakfast. Now you come to church, you look around, you see a few examples of those who are fully given, and you decide that is not for me. I am going to the football game as soon as the service is over. Choosing to not be sanctified unto the Lord but to continue to worship at the idols temple is to sin willfully.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

To be involved in worldly worship of idols when you don't know any better is one thing. But to do that after you have received the salvation from the Son of God, after being washed in His blood, and treating it like it is no different than going to a restaurant for two hours, that is a very different thing. Now you are intentionally insulting Jesus and by your actions you are claiming His blood does not sanctify you.

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

I have been warning over and over again that judgment must begin with the house of God. Yes, some Christians will be raptured. But that will turn out to judgment on those who are left behind.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

We are not of them who draw back unto perdition

32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; 33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

I have shared this experience before, but it is really only one of many such experiences. I was on campus, we had a prevailing gospel ministry. The university I was at had 2,000 students and there were five colleges where we would go and eat lunch, a different one each day of the week. I was in this one cafeteria, they had big tables where ten people could sit at each table. I was sitting at a table in the middle of the cafeteria and the place was packed. I could see two people sharing one chair at the table next to mine, I could see people standing by the windows and using the widow sill to hold their plate and I could see others going to the elevator with their plates to eat in their rooms. It was wall to wall people and yet the other nine seats at my table were empty. I was a gazingstock. Everyone knew that if they sat at my table they would hear the gospel. On the one hand it was a shock as I thought I was an unknown person. But it also revealed that the students were terrified because many were hearing the gospel and being saved. We knew many were disturbed by the sinful environment they were living in, but they were afraid to be seen with us because if they were the reproaches that were on us would be on them too.

34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

I knew this would happen to me when I got baptized and joined these brothers and sisters. During my freshman year I was at the center of this sinful campus. I don't want to say the things I was involved in, suffice it to say I was not in any way sanctified. I remember three years later I was fellowshipping with some other Christians on the campus. They were like "secret agent" Christians. They were not openly preaching the gospel and they were spreading evil rumors about us which is why we went to talk to them. During our conversation it came out that the brother knew me from when I was a freshman (this was my senior year). That surprised me because I didn't know him when I was a freshman. So I said "you can recognize me?" (I was surprised). He said "Yes, and we give God glory" (he clearly understood my surprise). So without going into details I think that describes the radical salvation I went through, there was a very big change.

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Can you imagine having an impact on 2,000 people? Not a negative impact. I would hate to think I was responsible for someone going to hell. When I was sitting in that cafeteria with nine empty seats I realized my very presence was causing everyone to be convicted and challenged by God.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

We are strangers in a strange land. Be patient, we will soon be going home. That is what the rapture is. But before you go home you will want to have done the will of God.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Like I said, this chapter is all about the coming of the Lord.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Again, don't listen to those who are preaching a watered down gospel. The Lord having no pleasure in you does not mean you are going to hell. But who cares, who wants to have to face the Lord and He has no pleasure in you?

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

This word translated perdition does not mean "purgatory". The first use is when Jesus talked about the broad way that leads to destruction. The word translated destruction is the first use of this word translated here as perdition. The second use was when the disciples were indignant at the woman pouring out the alabaster ointment on the Lord saying "to what purpose was this waste"? The word "waste" is the word translated here as perdition. It is also the same word used for Judas when Jesus referred to him as "the son of perdition". Judas was one of the 12 disciples who was with the Lord. So yes, this word can definitely be applied to disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
