the hot topic in the news seems to be the nasty weather the world is experiencing. A lot of people and scientists are pointing at global warming as a potential magnifier of our weather. I had a piece of Godly wisdom about a possible solution to tackling the run away pollution problem that exists. The world powers could not agree on a carbon tax, so how about legislating that a company or corporate has to be carbon neutral. This would mean they would have to own in their portfolio assets that offset their CO2 emissions.
Assets like forestry or carbon sinking. This would also help to eliminate the deforestation of natural rain forest as loggable forest reserves would increase. It would also give the company or corporate the right to advertise themselves as a Carbon Neutral Corporate. A UN levy for achieving Carbon Neutral and the marketing rights would be a good incentive to make the change. Considering the crap weather would you buy a product from a carbon neutral manufacture over a polluter?
