So, this morning my friend so kindly volunteered me to teach our sunday school class next week. This class is made up of ppl age 18- about 25. I am really nervous about doing this. I'm a rather quiet person and I don't really participate in many group discussions...I normally just sit and listen/take everyhitng in. Does anyone have any good topics that I could teach about? I've thought about teaching on part of Phillipians 4. It talks about being content no matter the circumstances. I don't really want to teach on something that we just hear over and over...I don't want to be boring or mess this up. Anyone have any good ideas/topics I'd appreciate it!! :)

Teach about something that God has taught you lately. If that's Philippians 4, go for it! It won't be boring if it is important to you and you're excited about it. (enthusiasm is one of the most important factors in teaching!) I think contentment is a great topic. Almost everyone needs to be more content. You could talk about the difference between the joy God gives and happiness that is temporary and is only based on circumstances- maybe bring in the story in Acts 16 about Paul and Silas in prison. They were content, thankful, even singing praises to God in the middle of the worst circumstances possible. Even if they have heard it recently, repetition is also a key to teaching well ;)
If you just normally sit and listen, that's great! That means you're paying attention to what is being said more than the average person (who might be thinking about what they're having for lunch, or their next school project, or whatever). That means you've taken more in and you have more to give out! I think you'll do a great job :)
