i know the devil throws things at us to catch us off guard so others can call us fake christians and whatnot. its real hard to accept the fact that temptation is okay, but not okay to act out on them. i am asking you lord, please help me with all my temptations and please bring me godly desires. ( i know this is kinda a prayer ) but i wanna let everybody know that whatever you're going through, it gets better. I'm a sinner myself, and i constantly sin, but i know god will always forgive us if we forgive others. we need to forgive others to let go all of that anger, sadness, and confusion of everything. we need to let ourselves free. a lot of depressed people, including myself, ask ourselves, "why can't we just be happy?" when in reality, we are own poison. if anybody ever needs someone to talk too, feel free to leave me a message. i don't care about the age; if you wanna vent, I'm all ears.

Jovi23,
Just know that the trying of your faith through tribulation worketh patience, experience and then hope.. Romans 5:3-5[FONT=arial, sans-serif]

The faith that we have as believers in Christ is, “...if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

You are praying for godly desires... That is wonderful! God said that if we delight ourselves in Him He would give us the desires of our heart...! Psalms 37:4 He will place in our hearts the right desires, a far cry from the desires we had before we confessed our sins to God and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

thank you for the scriptures!! :o and for taking the time to read this (:

The implication that depressed people are doing it to themselves is pretty much a flawed concept. Yes, people can go through a temporary depression, or be mildly depressed and such people can make changes to life themselves out of it easier. But others have genuine problems in their brain that makes the idea that we are our own poison just not true.
I've had depression since i was 14, i hate it. I'm in counseling, but it won't go away. I can talk happy thoughts all i want to myself, it's still there. Some peoples brains just malfunction, same as how some peoples bodies malfunction. And this is true for other mental issues as well.
