For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1:17.
in this new testament passage taken from Jn 1:17, the Greek word used for "Law" is "νομος" (nomos) which can be translated to mean "Principles" or "Regulations"...
while the Greek word for grace used is "χάρις" can be translated to mean "favor", "Gift"

what is the difference between these two words and these two persons..?
"Law" Moses.....Grace...Jesus Christ....
the true fact is that the law was given through Moses was suppose to bring man to Christ...we cannot be justified by our works for all of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory...we cannot boast before God that we are able to live a Holy life without the blood of Jesus on our souls.....none of us can fully keep all the laws that were given to us to keep..if we could then Jesus would have died in vain...the truth is that it is only by accepting Jesus can we really be declared Righteous before God...
so if you consider Moses to be a prophet, then you must also consider Jesus to be the Christ.....

"When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law."
