Man is the pinnacle of God's creation. Believers in evolution would say that we are little more than apes. We should not be surprised if the generation that believes this behaves according to the law of the jungle.

What does God have to say? Psalm 8: 4 & 5: "What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honour.…"

Man was created differently from the rest of creation. God simply said, "Let there be...." but man He formed from the dust of the earth. God put His breath into man and so Adam became a living being. Adam had a soul, which is mind, emotion and will. Animals do not have a will to choose with. They are ruled by instinct. Animals have no relationship with God. Adam was called the son of God (Luke 3:38)

Why did God create Adam and Eve? Genesis 1:28 "God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”"

To subdue means to put something under your power. God also gave man the authority to rule over His creation.

Now it is not directly stated, but there was one particular creature that Adam was commissioned to subdue. That was Satan, in the form of a serpent. Satan had been cast down to the earth (Luke 10:18). I believe that Isaiah 14:12-15 and Ezekiel 28: 12-17 include descriptions of Satan's fall. It is also likely a reference to a creation prior to the the account in Genesis 1:1 and the following passages.

We know that Adam failed. Rather than subdue the Serpent, Adam disobeyed God and we know all too well how that has turned out. We will see that God anticipated this and God's plan will prevail in the end. We will continue this discussion tomorrow.

Man was created differently from the rest of creation.

Mankind's is the only life that God created in His own image and likeness;
which tells me that all other forms of life are expendable whereas human life
is sacred.

God put His breath into man and so Adam became a living being. Adam had a soul.

Every living thing aboard the ark with Noah is said to possess the breath of
life (Gen 7:15) so we can't say that mankind is special in that regard.

The Hebrew word translated soul isn't unique to human life. Its first
appearance is at Gen 1:20-21 in reference to aqua creatures and winged
creatures; again at Gen 1:24 as terra creatures; viz: cattle, creepy crawlies,
and wild beasts; and again in Gen 2:7 as the human creature; and yet again
at Gen 9:10 to classify every living thing aboard Noah's ark.

Soul is somewhat ambiguous. It can be said that creatures are souls and
also that they have souls. But here in the beginning, the Hebrew word
nephesh (neh'-fesh) simply refers to consciousness. It's sometimes a
reference to one's heart, e.g. Gen 34:3, and to the core of one's being, e.g.
Gen 27:4

All fauna life was created conscious in the book of Genesis. However, I've
yet to discover a passage in the Bible indicating that flora life was created
conscious, viz: vegetation has no soul.

So then it's safe to say Man is a person, and it's safe to say that parakeets
and meerkats are persons (in their own way) but it would likely be unwise to
posit that turnips, saguaro cactus, and kelp are persons because it's
necessary to be a soul and/or have a soul, in order to qualify as a person.

NOTE: I have yet to discover a passage in the Bible saying God is a soul,
however I've run across several saying He has a soul. (Lev 26:11, Lev
26:30, Judg 10:16, Isa 42:1, Jer 32:41, Zech 11:8)

I generally agree but would like to fine-tune a few statements:

1. The purpose of the creation story is not to describe scientifically how humans were created but why.
2. The reason for creation of the universe was to provide humanity the opportunity to experience eternal joy in fellowship with God.
3. God created matter, life and souls with moral conscience and God-consciousness.
4. Humanity's commission is to be good stewards of God's world.
5. Both Adam and Eve sinned when they doubted God and believed the lie.
6. Christ defeated Satan.

Its an interesting topic.. With some great scriptures. I have to say YES! Adam should have subdued satan.. I never looked at it that way. But! satan didnt go to adam, he went to eve and so maybe adam did subdue the snake with all the other living things under Gods authority but that was his way of tricking adam from doing his duties unto the Lord? this is all hypathetical reasonings. So if we reason together, adam was alone taking care of Gods creation for a while and satan never tricked him then, so im thinking adam did subdue as God commanded. The fall came after that and satan needed to decieve eve to get to adam

Man is unique, that's the point I was making. He is a living being. The NT clarifies this as I will show later. Man is made in the image of God, and that is the difference. It's not clear from the Bible if animals have a soul or a spirit or both. To me, the soul is mind, emotion and will. I will explain why at some time. The spirit includes intuition, communion with God and conscience. Animals do not have a conscience. You won't find a lion in court for killing a rhino (if it could) even if the rhino is a protected species. The lion is being itself.

Man was created with both a soul and a spirit and in God's image. That much is clear.

Yeah. I don't think Jesus died to save animals. He only died for us humans.

Yes, and it seems logical IMO to assume that the all-loving God would create the best possible world or one in which the greatest percentage of persons may attain ultimate joy (1Tim. 2:3-4, 2Pet. 3:9).

God may have created all possible kinds of worlds simultaneously: the world of dead matter, the world of living plants, the world of intelligent animals, and the world of morally accountable souls/humans.

Last I heard from particle science news it was believed there were 11 dimensions. He operates in the Quantum dimension, where there is no space or time.

I have heard of quantum theory, but not that it had been proven yet, although perhaps it offers a hint of heaven.
