Matthew 7:6: "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces"

Matthew 7:1-6 talks about not judging. But determining who the dogs and swine are may seem like a form of judging, although different, because we are specifically told who they are.

Pearls represent a gift (that which is pure and Holy), while dogs and swine represent the sinful human nature/dirty/the lost.

There will be some who mock and ridicule the things of God. We're not to throw the precious gift to those who have heard the word of God, rejected it and chosen not to hear it again. They will try to silence you with hate and will not listen. We must move on.

Matthew 10:14: "And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet"

Mark 6:11: "And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them"

My definition of that Scripture is it says don't give what is Holy to the dogs and cast ur pearls before swine because to them it means nothing. To me it means if ur still a virgin thats a pure and holy thing because many aren't virgins anymore many to what they want with who they want whenever they want they don't care about love but the Bible says to wait until marriage it should be love and married a commitment one flesh according to Ephesians :) so if someone is a virgin that is pure and holy and the Bible says don't give it to dogs or swine because to them it means nothing thats my definition of what the Scripture means hope it helps God bless u

By the way the passage that you are talking about is talking about not being a hypocrite. An example (of the speck and log concept): don't judge someone for looking at porn, when you watch porn all the time. Not saying we should go around and judge people, BUT we should be will to stand up and lovingly correct a brother or sister if they are doing something that is a sin, or teaching something that is false doctrine.

unfortunately it seems like a lot of times 'pearls' is code for someone's hokey misinterpretation of the bible...
