The Gift of God changed my giving!!! HAHA! Yes indeed. I am glad I remembered this. I can't get to sleep tonight thinking of his mercies. Honestly sometimes I stay up thinking about the Lord till the next day and pray for strength for the day. LOL!!! I want to tell you about how the Gift of God changed my giving.
My friends, the idea even that someone would give his life for someone who hated him is the most precious idea a person could fathom. The idea again makes me wonder, is this type of love attainable? Surely it is easy to die for those who love you and appreciate you, but for people who curse you and hate you? For people who mock you and scorn you? This is perfect love. And this is the greatest gift that anyone could Give. God gave this gift, a passover lamb, for a people who hated him. You and me. I had to see if it were true. And when I began to read in the bible, first about God, noticing his character, and then about Jesus, seeing his character as that of God, I WAS CONVINCED THAT IT IS POSSIBLE!!
YES IT IS POSSIBLE!!! And then the Lord opened me up to so many revelations!!
Here is a challenge:
Many people usually give gifts within their means, for instance I only have 5 dollars, so I will get them a 25 cent gift. Though this is way inside their means.
Some people give just short of their means, but not all. I have 5 dollars I will give 3 dollars. Better.
But some people have a whole new concept of giving. I have 1 dollar, I will give my dollar. WOW!!
The Lord convicted me deeply and showed me I had forsaken the initial giving. I gave asking no questions. But I was pierced with sorrow like the rich man. I was the 5 and 3. But God knows this is not good enough for me. I know it is not good enough. I know my prayer to him about what I desire of him, but I can't go on if I cannot be the 1 and 1.
I want the fullness, that was my prayer, but am I willing to be the 1 and 1? Are you my friends? Let's work on this. Let's be the 1 and 1 in all things. Not just in our life as pertaining to God, but in our life as pertaining to men.
And what great passionate love is it to be the 1 and 1 for even those who hate you and lie about you and cheat you?
Examine yourself today. Are you the 1 and 1? The 3 and 5? The 5 and 25 cent?
