We did a study on 'The Lords Prayer' recently and I came across this.. I found it really challenging and thought I would share it with you all..
I cannot say OUR if I live for myself and do not share my faith with others.
I cannot say FATHER if I do not endeavour to act like His child.
I cannot say WHO ART IN HEAVEN if I am laying up no treasure there.
I cannot say HALLOWED BE THY NAME if I am not striving for holiness.
I cannot say THY KINGDOM COME if I am not doing what I can to hasten it's coming.
I cannot say ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN if my life is not devoted to serving Him here and now.
I cannot say GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD if I do not trust Him to provide and am not content with what I have.
I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR TRESSPASSES if I am not willing to change.
I cannot say AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS if I hold a grudge against anyone.
I cannot say LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION if I deliberately and knowingly place myself in it's path.
I cannot say DELIVER US FROM EVIL if I am not prepared to fight against it with the armour of God.
I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM if I do not give the King the loyalty of a faithful servant.
I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER if I fear what others may do and try to work in my own power.
I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY if I'm seeking glory only for myself.
I cannot say AMEN unless I can honestly say 'Cost what it may this is my prayer.'
