Midnight,
The crescent moon rising,
From behind the mountain,
It nears the end of June.
As it slices its way
Amongst the stars,
We had not a word to say.
Yet, we felt everything,
My Lord and I.
The warmth of night,
Shadows weak, and in an instant,
His soft voice whispered
And I felt the love.
In the darkness,
The mountains, trees and rivers
Changed their appearances
Yet my heart remained steadfast.
True to me,
True to His precious heart.
As we waited for dawn,
And a new day rising,
The earth remained,
A castle for
Celestial tunes,
